Chapter 12
“What should I call it?”
“Little Sam? I’ve used that one before, but it feels a bit weird. Little Larry? Little Mark? Little Barry?”
“My name is Vincent Wolf, so my pet beast…”
With excitement, Vincent clenches his right fist and smacks it into his left palm. “Let’s call it Little Vincent!”
“Wait, that seems a bit odd.”
“After naming it that, it feels somewhat indecent. Never mind, I’ll randomly choose one from those few options.”
Vincent tears five pieces of paper, writes numbers on them, and starts a drawing. In the end, he draws the number 5.
“Alright, it shall be called Little Barry.”
He calls the Slime, which is in the middle of training, and tells it its new name.
“Come, learn with me, Xiaolan.”
When Little Barry hears it has a name, it is very happy, because its still innocent spiritual wisdom tells it that a name represents its distinction among countless other Slimes.
However, it is confused. It blinks its big eyes and bounces twice.
Vincent feels the confusion from Little Barry coming through the Beast Space, and he feels embarrassed. “Sorry, I forgot you don’t have a mouth. Let me teach you to write instead.”
Little Barry watches its round body while Vincent falls into deep thought.
Vincent picks up a small stick from the ground, writes the words “Little Barry” on the ground, and then pokes the stick into Little Barry.
“Wrap this little stick around and control it so that your body’s digestive juices don’t dissolve it. See if you can use this little stick to write.”
Little Barry tries for a long time, but the stick almost melts, and it doesn’t manage to write a single word.
“As expected, making a Slime learn to write is too much of a stretch. The control over the digestive juices is not there either, making my bold ideas impossible to implement.”
Disappointed, Vincent tells Little Barry to continue training while he eats something and prepares to start meditating.
Looking at the time, Vincent realizes it’s getting late. He summons Little Barry back to Beast Space and goes back to his room to sleep.
Day 2.
Vincent wakes up early, feeling refreshed and in good spirits after dealing with Flora Gates’ issue.
He hasn’t forgotten that his Beast-controlling Talent [Simulation] has been refreshed, so he silently starts the simulation.
The moment the simulation starts, Vincent feels as if he’s been emptied, with all his strength mysteriously disappearing.
He collapses onto his bed, completely drained of his abundant energy in just a few seconds. His entire body is filled with deep fatigue, as if he had sprinted a full marathon.
“This is what you meant by it consuming some physical strength?”
“It’s all my strength, for crying out loud!”

[On Day 28, as you walk along, you find a Water Attribute Energy Crystal Stone and consume it. Your level is raised to Awakening Level 5.]
[On Day 29, you find another Water Attribute Energy Crystal Stone. While puzzled, you consume it, and your level rises to Awakening Level 6.]
