The resistance on the ancient combat vessel weakened, but Saleen did not dare to be complacent. The two ancient warriors walked out from the cabin and looked around them with hesitation before discovering the dragon skeleton combat vessel in the middle of the deck.

The winged skeleton discovered the two of them and allowed them to approach the rear end of the dragon skeleton combat vessel before suddenly activating the dragon tail to start sweeping side by side, sending the two of them into the sea.

The water puppet took the opportunity to bring Tam’enm onto the dragon skeleton combat vessel. He had used up too much mental strength and had cast more than twenty grade-9 spells since the battle began. Even divine crystals were not able to replenish his mental strength quickly enough.

It was precisely because the water puppet kept casting high-level spells non-stop that the people on the deck and the level below it were cleaned up so thoroughly.

One could not stay on the deck of the dragon skeleton combat vessel for too long. The water puppet opened up a door, but a blood-red figure brushed past him from behind.

All of a sudden, a six yard long iron lance appeared in the figure’s hands and there was a red glow around his body, obscuring his face.

A huge crater appeared in the cabin and reached all the way to the cabin of command, where the winged skeleton was.

The water puppet and Tam’enm both felt their bodies become paralyzed. Their footsteps were faltering, and they had to hold onto the walls in order to keep themselves stable. The water puppet quickly regained consciousness while Tam’enm was still a little dazed as their eyes revealed a dark red glow.

“Ha!” the water puppet unleashed Spiritual Deterrence and Tam’enm was stunned for a moment. The powerful mental impact hit them accurately, causing a sound of explosion in their brain.

All of a sudden, the grade-7 sorcerer plopped onto the ground. The red glow of light in their eyes had disappeared, replaced by a look of confusion.

The water puppet patted Tam’enm with Frosty Touch and a layer of ice appeared on the latter’s body.

“Wait here!” With that, the water puppet left to begin his pursuit.

That red figure was the last of the eight ancient warriors and was also the only whose combat abilities had not been reduced. The ancient warrior was originally controlled by the grade-9 sorcerer. When the sorcerer was killed, the warrior was still in its coffin.

The ancient warrior was able to pierce through more than ten layers of walls with his lance. Although the internal structure of the dragon skeleton combat vessel was not infused with any defensive magic arrays, it was still made with excellent metal. The power of the lance had already surpassed that of golden grand swordmasters.

The winged skeleton took a big step to the front, with a giant axe in his hands. This giant axe was seven yards long with two curved blades in the shape of a crescent moon. Both sides of the tip of the axe were each mounted with a gemstone of the size and shape of an eye. The gemstones were brown in color with a black sphere in the middle.

The ancient warrior’s lance aimed at the winged skeleton’s chest. This attack was fast and straightforward. In his previous attack, he had to unleash red sword aura in order to pierce through the wall of the cabin of command. That time around, all the power was concentrated at the tip of the lance. The moment it met any target, the power would instantly explode.

“Die!” The winged skeleton’s voice was so cold that the walls of the cabin immediately grew a layer of ice. That was not an illusion but was Spirit Instant-death spell. The winged skeleton’s axe struck the shaft of the lance as he shouted.

He was a spirit of the dead, so he could not possibly produce any sword aura, and had to depend completely on his power and the material of the giant axe to go up against the ancient warrior’s long lance. There was a sound of metal breaking.

It was as if there were two crescent moons in the sky that were taking turns to strike. In an instant, the winged skeleton had already struck the long lance more than thirty times with his axe.

The ancient warrior’s lance lowered. It did not manage to completely repel the winged skeleton’s attack and the tip of the lance pierced into the metal floor uncontrollably. Although the lance had been destroyed, the ancient warrior did not release his grip. Instead, he followed through and used the forward momentum to pivot and flip himself over the winged skeleton’s head.

The metal lance was forcefully bent into the shape of a circle and when he released his grip, the lance repelled back and stopped a grade-8 spell that was cast by the water puppet, who was pursuing from behind.

A three yard tall ice totem was smashed into pieces by the shaft of the lance. The broken shards of ice froze the path ahead of the water puppet.

The winged skeleton swiped his axe at the ancient warrior, who was in the air. A green arrow shot out of nowhere and penetrated the ancient warrior’s head.

Eleanor, who was beside Saleen, had struck. Although she was only a grade-7 mage, her improvement in elf archery skills had been immense. The Elf Space arrow struck its target in only one try. Saleen had instructed Eleanor not to use the Life arrow because the ancient warrior was no longer a living creature and had no lifespan.

Eleanor notched her second arrow, the Elf Emperor arrow, onto the bow of Seven Nights.

The grade-9 spell, Endless Night, on Saleen’s devil suit was activated instantaneously. Due to the shockwave of the Elf Emperor arrow, the ancient warrior had already frozen instantaneously even before Eleanor had shot out the arrow. The arrow that had pierced through its head was not fatal, only causing his actions to become slower.

The grade-9 Endless Night was already the most powerful single-target spell amongst dark-element spells. Saleen, who understood part of the rules, was able to lengthen the duration of the spell.

The winged skeleton’s axe managed to strike the ancient warrior’s waist. Its tainted blood armor did not break, but because of the tremendous force of the axe, there was a cracking sound from the ancient warrior’s spine. Due to the effect of Endless Night, its entire body was now bending and contorting in a strange manner and even its tainted blood armor was also changing shape.

A golden magic book appeared in Saleen’s hands. He flipped it open and cast a grade-9 spell from within, which was Absolute Zero.

The golden magic book could store six grade-7 spells, six grade-8 spells, and six grade-9 spells. All those spells could be used instantaneously, regardless of the element or attributes of the spell.

That was also one of the reasons why magic books were more powerful than magic staffs. The golden magic book in Saleen’s hands was from the Goddess’ temple. Other mages would not have any chance of obtaining such a powerful equipment. There were only two magic books on Sregl Island, and none of them were as good as Saleen’s.

Saleen’s hands were not stopping. When he flipped the book to another page, the second grade-9 spell was also unleashed. At that point in time, the ancient warrior dashed out of Endless Night, but was coincidentally hit by Saleen’s Absolute Zero.

There was a look of comfort and laziness on the warrior’s face. There was another short-sword in its hands, but it has turned into ice. The tip of the sword lowered, and its entire body was shaking.

Saleen was not going to stop attacking just because the warrior stopped. The second grade-9 spell was Vacuum Cutting.

The ancient warrior’s waist, which was already contorted to the right, was suddenly slashed as the grade-9 wind-element spell accurately struck the exact same location as the winged skeleton’s axe.

Crack...

The ancient warrior was unable to block the grade-9 spell. Its tainted blood armor was cut into two by the Vacuum Cutting spell and so was its waist. Its upper body landed on the ground as its hands suddenly started to wave around violently. Its legs, however, had been frozen to the ground by Absolute Zero.

Saleen was calm. He had been learning magic for close to a decade, and he was finally able to challenge and defeat a grade-9 opponent. Although he did it by using the powers of his equipment, he would still have lost if his understanding of magic was insufficient.

Is that how it felt to be powerful? Everything was within control and even the strongest grade-9 ancient warrior was killed by him and the winged skeleton.

The winged skeleton took one more step forward and swung his axe downwards to cut the ancient warrior’s lower body through the middle. The internal organs in the ancient warrior’s body had already shriveled up like a zombie. Not a drop of fresh blood flowed out of its wound at the waist.

The winged skeleton put the two lower limbs into death dimension. He no longer needed such things anymore, after all, the golden zombie had allowed his body to evolve into something more powerful than the ancient warrior. Nevertheless, the materials would still help him to create some powerful spirits of the dead.

The upper half of the ancient warrior’s body has also frozen onto the ground and its arms had stopped moving. A short sword shot out, but with no aim nor accuracy, it only landed on the exterior of the dragon skeleton combat vessel. The ancient warrior’s final attack was devoid of explosiveness.

The winged skeleton took yet another step forward and stepped on the upper body of the warrior. He swung his axe and cut off the warrior’s head.

After the head had rolled off, Eleanor finally stepped forward to retrieve her Space arrow. The arrow was refined from the branches of a divine tree and she only had eight of them in total.

The two ancient warriors that had been sent flying into the ocean earlier on were immediately attacked by thousands of huge fish with sharp teeth. Their tainted blood armor, which was effective even against spells, was completely chewed up into pieces by the fish. In the blink of an eye, the two ancient warriors had been completely devoured by the school of fish.

These fish were only grade-6 magic beasts, but due to their large number and their sharp teeth, the two grade-9 ancient warriors were only able to put up a fight for a few minutes before being devoured.

The hundreds of fish that had eaten up the two ancient warriors suffered the same fate as the other fish ate them up as well. The location was still far away from the Oceanic Ice Block, but the sea was already full of ferocious creatures. Even those as powerful as grade-9 people were unable to survive the in sea. If those two ancient warriors were still conscious enough, they would have flown into the sky to escape. They reacted too slowly, and it never crossed their minds to escape, thus they ended up as fish food.

“Tam’enm, come over here.” After ensuring that the last three ancient warriors had been settled, Saleen called for the water puppet and the sorcerer that he had brought over.

“My Lord!” Tam’enm walked over and bowed respectfully to Saleen. Their gaze fell on Eleanor for a moment, where they seemed pleasantly surprised, but did not dare to linger.

Saleen pushed up his mask and revealed his face to be exactly the same as the water puppet’s. Tam’enm was stunned momentarily. He thought for a moment that water puppet was Saleen’s clone, but... that was impossible! How could the clone of a grade-8 sorcerer be so powerful?

Clone techniques should be restricted by distance. The clone should not be too far away from the original body and it should only possess one-sixth of the original’s power.
