Chapter 381: A brawl between magic beasts (Part 1)

The alchemical boat was still more than two miles from the remains of the dragon. From afar, the bone spirits surveilled the dragon’s remains. Banchajanna crawled cautiously on the waterbed in a way totally unbecoming of a spirit king. Banchajanna behaved more like a low grade magic beast who was afraid of startling the powerful creatures in its vicinity.
Saleen knew how to torture Banchajanna as Banchajanna was helpless against his threats and temptations.
There were skeletal dragons in the death dimension too. The body of a skeletal dragon would always be inferior as compared to the bones of a dragon which still contained vitality. Even if a skeletal dragon was in front of him, Banchajanna would not be allured. He currently had no choice but to risk his life for a few bones.
Saleen also felt that the process was prodigal. The tiago dragon might have many bones, but only a few of them contained vitality. Things like vitality disappeared gradually the moment a dragon passed away. Lex would not be in such a hurry to soak the armor in the dragon’s blood the previous time otherwise. Premium pieces of armor were ubiquitous in the national treasury of the Holy Rock City. If the dragon’s blood was not utilized, it would be ineffective in the future.
It was insignificant storing the dragon’s bones in the Ring of Gifts, as the ring would absorb the vitality from the dragon’s bones to stabilize its interior space. It was only after acquiring the Dimension Stone that Saleen managed to preserve the remaining bones.
Those circumstances could not be helped. Back when Saleen first obtained the dragon’s bones, he still had not grasped the Water Flame Alchemy. Also, Lex’s alchemy could not unleash the greatest effect of those dragon’s bones. Lex’s ability at that point in time was also one of the factors why the armor and weapons crafted for Nailisi and Sika got damaged during the battle.
Had Lex been a sorcerer, none of that would have happened.
Banchajanna approached the remains of the dragon stealthily. In front of these massive remains, his body seemed minuscule. His six arms did not wield any weapons. Each arm was clutching onto a piece of the Dimension Stone as he prayed in his heart. “Please do not let this sword spirit be too aggressive!”
As Banchajanna drew closer and closer to the head of the dragon’s skeleton, a black thread shot out from the eye orbitals once again. This time around, Banchajanna kept his cool, he simply extended his six arms to form the structure of a magic array. That black thread penetrated the center of the structure and could not go any farther. Banchajanna brought his six hands together at the same time, it caused the black thread to be trapped and go haywire. The Soul Flame in Banchajanna’s orbitals flickered violently, almost gushing out.
At this moment, Jola and the rest had gathered at the front cabin, spectating Banchajanna’s actions.
“Truly a king!” Jola did not know what Banchajanna was up against, but Banchajanna’s extremely precise actions left him in awe. If Jola was the one doing it, he could only do so much. At such a depth, Jola could only hold out for at most ten minutes before he needed to escape back to the alchemical boat. His Sword Aura would be dispersed and he would be crushed into mash by the water pressure otherwise.
Banchajanna possessed massive soul strength, hence he could control six Dimension Stones at the same time. This caused the sword spirit to crash into the six stones in a chaotic manner, but it could not escape. Luck was needed to store the sword spirit into a Dimension Stone. A sword spirit was not a dead being, its movements needed to be slowed down first before this difficult action could be accomplished.
All of a sudden, the dragon’s orbitals lit up. A glowing fish, the size of a fist, swam out. This fish charged towards Banchajanna, it seemed like it wanted to rescue the sword spirit.
Banchajanna swiped his colossal tail, causing the thorns on his tail to pierce this glowing fish. Saleen was on tenterhooks, but then he heaved a sigh of relief. With Banchajanna’s attack, a huge hole appeared in the fish’s body.
Glowing blood spurted out from the fish’s body, forming a clot of vibrant color in the gloomy ocean.
“Oh no!” Saleen shrieked. Irene also exclaimed at the same time.
“Nailisi, go and help Banchajanna. Within three minutes, come back and we will leave!” Saleen issued an order without any hesitation, as he stuffed a Dimension Stone into Nailisi’s hand.
This fish was a magic beast whose forte was psychological attack. It had a nice-sounding name, an aromatic snow. This magic beast lived in frigid waters and loved hiding in obscure spots, using its mental strength to hunt prey. Its blood was extremely delicious, and to any magic beast, it was very seductive.
To make things worse, this magic beast lived in groups. Following Banchajanna’s attack, this region of the ocean would be filled with the aromatic snow’s blood. Before long, many magic beasts would gather at this location.
Nailisi received the Dimension Stone. Without saying anything, she left the Pan’s Turtle alchemical boat via the teleportation portal. As straight as a ramrod, Nailisi charged towards the remains of the dragon. The Soul Flame in Banchajanna’s orbitals flickered even more vigorously now. Not only did he need to capture the sword spirit, he also needed to deal with the aromatic snow’s mental assault.
Dozens of aromatic snow swam out of the dragon’s orbitals. All these invisible attacks caused Banchajanna to be deeply troubled. The sword spirit did not show any signs of slowing down, there was no way of storing it into the Dimension Stone at all.
Nailisi ignored Banchajanna. Clutching the Dimension Stone in hand, she went directly beside the skeleton of the dragon, pressing the Dimension Stone onto its skull. The space in the Dimension Stone was tremendous, unrivalled by any other normal spatial equipment. The skeleton left behind by this dragon was way too huge. Suddenly, the Dimension Stone in Nailisi’s hand produced a distorted illusion. Nailisi pressed onto her forehead as she felt the mental attack produced by the remains of the dragon.
A giant whirlpool was formed. Tolerating the intense pain, Nailisi managed to absorb the skeleton of the dragon and the nearby seawater into the Dimension Stone.
With a thunderous boom, a region of seawater was absorbed, and the consequent vacuum formed attracted a rush of the surrounding seawater. Nailisi and Banchajanna could no longer maintain their balance. All that sand on the seabed got ruffled due to the vigorous wave, causing widespread chaos.
“Nailisi!” Jola yelled. Saleen’s expression became glum as he felt that Nailisi had gotten injured.
“Soldier, go and get them!”
By this time, the winged skeleton had already activated the alchemical boat, and the five mages were also standing inside the magic array stimulating the power in the magic nuclei. Within a span of three seconds, the alchemical boat was already traveling at more than forty miles an hour, and its speed was still increasing.
With such exaggerated movements, it was impossible for Saleen to conceal himself anymore. He needed to rescue Nailisi as soon as possible. Of course, Banchajanna needed to be saved too. No matter how abominable this fellow was, he was in possession of six Dimension Stones.
Sticking to the seabed, the Pan’s Turtle alchemical boat traveled speedily. Many magic beasts who had been living in the sea for many years could not even achieve such a speed. Once the alchemical boat entered into the midst of the muddy sand, Saleen crawled out from the teleportation portal. Even though the Water Shield had encompassed Saleen’s body, the massive water pressure still made him feel like his heart was going to explode anytime.
As he could detect Nailisi’s soul, he quickly rushed to the seabed, grabbing onto Nailisi’s hand. As for Banchajanna, the sword spirit managed to break free and was now slashing at his body furiously. In a flash, dozens of slits had appeared across Banchajanna’s body.
Nailisi’s body twitched, and she woke up. If Nailisi was not a demon and she had fainted in an environment like this, the seawater would have entered through her nose and caused her lungs to burst. This would have happened even if she had the ability to withstand the water pressure.
In water, Nailisi’s breathing had stopped long ago. She was using her skin to extract oxygen from the seawater. When Saleen grabbed her hand, she used another hand to grab onto Saleen, stuffing the Dimension Stone into Saleen’s Demonic Ring. Nailisi and Saleen could share equipment, it was an effect from the soul contract. Nailisi lost all strength after executing that action. Dragged by Saleen, they reached the underside of the alchemical boat and then disappeared in the shine from the teleportation portal.
Dozens of corpses of the aromatic snow fish floated in the muddy waters, giving off a powerful glow. Even though Banchajanna did not know what the aromatic snow was, he knew that there was trouble when he saw Saleen risk his own life by entering the water. Being rich in combat experience, Banchajanna immediately abandoned the sword spirit, allowing the sword spirit to attack him freely. Banchajanna fled like a ghost, then he entered the alchemical boat through the roof.
Unexpectedly, that black thread-like sword spirit stabbed into his tail, following him into the alchemical boat.
This time around, it seemed like Banchajanna was a changed person. He took out a giant ax, and chopped his own tail off forcefully. Banchajanna sliced off a segment of his tail which measured about half a meter in length. His other hand holding the Dimension Stone had already absorbed the tail together with the sword spirit.
Since the space within the Dimension Stone was stable, the sword spirit could struggle for all it wanted. Had a normal spatial equipment been used for this absorption, it might have already been crumbled by the sword spirit.
“Let’s go!” Saleen urged the winged skeleton. The five low grade mages also stimulated the magic array with all their might. At the same time, they mosaicked thirty grade-7 magic nuclei into the reserve magic array.
This was Saleen’s lifeline for escaping. With the grade-7 magic nuclei, the Pan’s Turtle alchemy boat could even travel all the way south to Alchemy City at a speed of more than seventy miles an hour.
An enormous black shadow appeared on the magic compass, it was not a red marking. Irene still shrieked, “Go back, go back! Go north!”
Obviously, Irene did not want to face this magic beast which had appeared on the southern side. Besides this magic beast, every other direction in the south was lit with red markings. These red markings represented danger, and they were all converging there.
Suddenly, the rumbling of the engine in the alchemical boat grew loud, and Saleen knew that he had acted rashly. The skeleton of this dragon did not pose much danger, but the aromatic snow which lived in it were the nightmare of many magic beasts. Now that the aromatic snow had been killed, mightier magic beasts would be attracted to this place. These magic beasts would even try to slaughter one another. Saleen did not want this alchemical boat to sink there.
From both sides of the Pan’s Turtle alchemical boat, water flows were ejected, forming a powerful propulsion force. At the same time, the alchemical boat floated upwards, and its speed got even faster.
Saleen carried Nailisi back to his own cabin. After some hesitation, Banchajanna decided to follow him.
Irene’s face was pale as she stood in front of the magic compass, helping the winged skeleton to man the rudder. Situated in front of the winged skeleton was the Spirit Pool. Pieces of the green spirit were mosaicked around the Spirit Pool, which stored many more bone spirits. The winged skeleton observed the danger in the surroundings nervously. The moment any trouble surfaced, he would release the bone spirits to attack and massacre.
The winged skeleton was not very confident. The bone spirits were designed to deal with warships. It was not known whether they were effective against magic beasts or not.
Banchajanna followed Saleen to the cabin. Saleen placed Nailisi on the table, and upon inspection using his mental strength, he realized that Nailisi did not sustain any serious injury. That violent wave had caused Nailisi to receive a strong impact, making her head dizzy. After casting a few Chunlin Spells, Nailisi opened her eyes.
“Master, it’s so painful!” Nailisi gripped Saleen’s hand tightly, unwilling to let go. When the wave of seawater crashed down fiercely, Nailisi thought that she was going to die. In that split second, she was petrified. It felt as though she was on the demonic plane, getting struck by a devil.
