Chapter 252: Elf of Fire Elements (Part 1)

“Come here, Nailisi.” Saleen waved to Nailisi, who was still standing in the teleportation portal.
Nailisi walked over and bowed in front of Jason. Her body became longer quickly after she taking off her clothes, exposing her skin covered in green patterns and the tail swinging behind her.
“Master Jason, Saleen is my master,” Nailisi said in her most respectful tone of ancient Myers language. Jason’s powers were stronger than that of an imp, and even stronger than that of some demons. Nailisi truly respected Jason from the bottom of her heart, and not just because Jason was Saleen’s teacher.
Her mental power was as sharp as Saleen’s, and she could feel Jason’s strong will. That will was akin to fully-refined rhenium gold – pure, flawless, tenacious, and sharp. The most surprising thing was that Jason’s will was also restrained. A person could not sense this will unless he himself decided to reveal it.
“Well…” Jason looked at Nailisi’s tail and said, “Raise your head.”
Nailisi looked up, golden light flashing in that pair of green eyes. Jason thought for a moment and asked, “Are you a demon?”
“Imp,” Nailisi replied.
“Your power is about the same as a demon’s. What type of contract did you sign with Saleen? ”
“A soul bond.”
“How long have you been an adult?”
“Just over a year,” Nailisi answered carefully. She had discovered that Jason was more knowledgeable than Saleen. He had asked all of the important questions, but had not followed up on any of them. Apparently, he knew everything already.
“Stand up. You can continue following Saleen.” Jason was also relieved. Nailisi had signed a soul bond with Saleen before she was an adult, which meant that there would be no backlash. No future growth from Nailisi would harm Saleen. With the strength of his soul, Saleen had been too reckless in signing a contract with an imp who had a strange lineage and branching evolutions.
If the soul bond had been signed when she was already an adult, things would have become quite complicated.
“Teacher…” Saleen said, but did not know where to begin. He had many words to say. He wanted to ask about everything that had happened to Jason after he had left him, and he also wanted to tell him about the hell of god’s punishment.
“Saleen, come here and talk to me. My state at grade-7 is stable now. Don’t worry.” Jason sat Saleen at a table. Nailisi stood up and stayed behind Saleen in her human form.
Hundreds of black metal blocks were placed on the table, and Saleen glanced at them and immersed himself in their form.
The Dante Sequence!
This sequence was superior to the Figaro Formula. The latter explained the relationship between elements and matter while the former explained the compositional principles of the dimensions.
Those hundreds of black metal blocks placed on Jason’s table were apparently the simplest sequence, but they explained the principles of the dimensions, and were still abstruse. My teacher’s lineage is obviously stronger than Faerun’s. Is he studying the composition of the dimensions already? But this is beyond the calculative abilities of a grade-7 mage!
“Saleen, can you understand this?” Jason knew that although he had instructed Saleen a lot, he had not had time to teach him advanced knowledge. This Dante Sequence was something that he had just begun studying, but Saleen had immersed himself in it immediately, indicating that he knew something about the sequence.
“I can’t, but I have read about it in magic notes.”
As he spoke, Saleen could not help but take all of the magic books and notes he had obtained from Raphael’s magic tower out of his Ring of Gifts. He only brought out the high-grade ones, yet they covered most of the space on the table.
“Teacher, these are what I have obtained. Please accept them.”
“Haha!” Jason laughed and said to Saleen, “Saleen, I’ve already found my path and won’t need these anymore. Keep them for yourself. You can come to me if you have any questions.”
Jason also felt satisfied within his heart. Saleen was a good child. Although he had taken the wrong path before, he had become an orthodox mage through his own efforts. This knowledge was invaluable and Saleen had proved that he had a good heart by taking them out.
Saleen hesitated, put the books away one by one, took out several blank scrolls, and asked, “Teacher, you surely need these, don’t you? I heard that Sregl Island has been in trouble recently.”
“Not exactly in trouble. It was just a problem left over from a long time ago. I’ll tell you later. Saleen, these scrolls are ancient and are fairly high-level. Where did you get them?”
After hearing Jason’s question, Saleen began telling Jason of his experiences after leaving Ceylon City. Just hearing about Saleen’s experiences made Jason worry about him even though Saleen was sitting in front of him safe and sound.
It could be said that Saleen had been living by a thread. Beginning from the time when he had first encountered the white deacon, Saleen would have died a hundred times over had he not had good luck every time.
Gaia went back to his magic tower without caring about Lex and the others. Lex began to practice outside of Jason’s magic tower. Sika sat on the ground, holding the bone necklace in her hands, and used her mental power to perceive the information stored within it.
Daniel and Jupiter were left in a dilemma. They could not walk around, nor did they dare to practice like Lex did. So, they simply stood there and waited.
Ordinary people thought mages were indifferent for a good reason. Saleen had gone to see his teacher and had left those people outside, and this seemed like a rather bad thing to do. However, Lex and Sika did not complain. They could rest anywhere, with or without a roof or a bed.
“You were saying that you and Lex found the magic tower of Raphael?”
“We did not find it. We were forced into the hell by god’s punishment by the oracle, and that was Raphael’s hiding place back then. There are many interdimensional spaces that are connected to Myers. Now, we have only vague coordinates, and will need help from many sorcerers to return to that place.”
“The things left by Raphael have already been taken by you and Lex, right?”
“Teacher, there was also a world created by Raphael and a six element space. Lex is willing to give up one of these two.”
“Six element space… Saleen, what type of promise did you make with Lex?” Jason raised his eyebrows, apparently unsatisfied with Saleen for making promises to others without his permission.
“I made no promises. The conditions need to be set between you and her. But it is hard to build a six element space on Myers, Teacher. If you and other people from the mage group go there and practice, it won’t be as difficult to advance to a grade-9 sorcerer.
“Saleen, you don’t understand. The mages of Sregl Island won’t work for a noble.”
“Teacher, half of the things in that interdimensional space belong to me. We don’t need to work for a noble. We just need to guard the things that belong to us. I have been to the world created by Raphael, and it is such an amazing world with natural living things and balanced elements. Going there will be good for your studies on the Dante Sequence.”
“Saleen, do you really think we can stay out of the affair once we enter that interdimensional space?” Jason asked the most important question. Even if Lex did not need them to work for her, the Holy See would attack in full force once they discovered the secret of that place. By that time, their attacks would not stop even if Jason’s men claimed they had nothing to do with Lex.
“That’s why I don’t want to build the teleportation portal at Bitter Water County. Teacher, we can always find a less conspicuous place and build it without catching anyone’s attention. The coordinates can be calculated, and we can build the teleportation portal at a frozen district up north. The Holy See won’t pay any attention to that area for decades even if they unify the land.”
“I’m not afraid of trouble. The six element space is worth taking risks for, but right now, Sregl Island cannot send that many sorcerers to help. You are wrong if you think that it is the Holy See I’m worried about. The Holy See is also a group of people. The turmoil on the mainland has already spread to Alchemy City, and no one can stay uninvolved.”
“Teacher, what is the problem on this island?”
Jason thought for a moment and said, “You can’t help, but since you are my student, I’ll explain the situation to you. You already know that there is a volcanic magic array at the center of Sregl Island. That magic array has a longer history than Alchemy City, and it was built by six grade-10 mages.
“Grade-10 mages!” Saleen knew that the power of a grade-10 mage was the peak of this world. Six grade-10 mages. Wouldn’t they be able to challenge the gods?
“Yes. Many people think that Alchemy City was built by nine grade-9 mages, which is not true. At the very beginning, six grade-10 mages and over thirty grade-9 mages worked together to build what we have today.”
Jason explained it to Saleen. Saleen knew that what he had said was the real history of Alchemy City.
“Alchemy City was built during the redistricting ages of Myers when the Fourth Dynasty had just collapsed. The Grukos family rose with their magic and built the Qin Empire, and those six grade-10 mages played important roles in it. One grade-10 mage became a royal mage of the Grukos family, one died, and the remaining four grade-10 mages returned to Alchemy City and built what you see today. ”
“Three of the grade-10 mages occupied three overseas islands, and one occupied Alchemy City on the coast. Those mages lived to the end of their lives and left a huge fortune for their descendants, including Sregl Island. What makes Sregl Island special is that the magic array at its core was the work of all those grade-10 mages at the very beginning, different from Devil’s Horn and Sky Island. Mages from our branch have been under pressure for many years. The other three branches have been asking for Sregl Island to be opened up for all mages to practice on it.”
“Is that right?” Saleen asked dubiously. Since Alchemy City belonged to all mages, why was it split into four different branches from the inside?
“But Devil’s Horn, Sky Island, and Alchemy City all have their own belongings and are not willing to share them with others. Why must Sregl Island be opened up? Saleen, mages are the most stingy people of all, and you should understand. ”
Of course Saleen could understand. Mages from the other three forces want to gain without paying the price. No wonder even a person like my teacher feels that this is unfair.
