Chapter 1198: Puppet Constellation (Part 2)

Saleen added star patterns and starlines onto the Puppet World. They refined the Puppet World into a model of a planet. Of course, being a level 10 mage was not sufficient to refine a planet. Even a lesser god would not be able to complete the task. Only a person at level 17 or 18, a greater god amongst the gods or King of Gods, would be able to refine a planet or destroy a plane.

Saleen did not go overboard and expect to be able to complete it when he was at level 10, but he wanted to allow his Puppet World to become a Puppet Constellation. If that were the case, it would not only increase the puppets’ combat ability, but it could also provide energy for his Comet Flash.

The Comet Flash skill was not perfect. Every time it was used, Saleen would always waste a large amount of mental power. Because he had to communicate with earth elemental power or the power of constellations, it was extremely taxing for him. The Body of Water Element had its strengths, so of course it also had weaknesses. Its weakness was that when communicating with earth elemental power, it would consume more mental power than it would for normal mages.

If Saleen had not obtained the ring from Arbola, he would not have been able to accomplish any of it

The star patterns in his memory were refined on the inner part of the crystal. A variety of star constellations showed up one by one on the magic image. Saleen did not require the power of the constellations to provide much help to the puppets. He only needed it to stabilize the Puppet Constellation, so that the puppets would be able to provide the power of the constellations.

The entire Puppet Constellation would become the place where the puppets’ faith would be located.

Who would hope for the world they were in to collapse? The puppets were just like living creatures. The only thing they were missing was a soul. A life without a soul would not give rise to particularly strong power of faith. It would only be used to materialize the equipment. Saleen did not have any hope that the piece of equipment would be able to evolve as long as it was sufficiently stable.

For about a dozen hours, Saleen perfected the star patterns for the Puppet Constellation. After the Puppet Constellation was released, it would turn into a planet floating on the horizon. Aside from the Puppet Constellation itself, there would be an illusory galaxy formed by the power of constellations. It would envelop the entire area at which Saleen was battling. The area was about the same size as the original Puppet Territory, which was about six kilometers across.

It was the equivalent of covertly restoring the territory’s power. Of course, Saleen did not want such a handy territory to vanish. When he needed to plunder and destroy each temple, he could rely on the puppets. Otherwise, each time he went out, Nailisi would have to laboriously order about the demons and be exposed to danger.

When the drawing of the blueprints was completed, all of the mages were once again absorbed in the new calculations. Such a huge and complicated piece of magic equipment needed its calculations to be clear before it could be refined. Whether or not Saleen’s starlines could be refined along with the magic lines was also a huge problem.

Saleen had experience, having tried similar methods at Gaine’s astrology tower, but for the mages at Metatrin City, it was their first time.

The calculations once took a day. Close to 10,000 mages collected data, and hundreds of sorcerers analyzed the accuracy of the data. Finally, eight level 10 mage trainers redrew the detail parts of the prepared blueprints. Only then did they start the alchemic factory’s facilities to refine the Puppet Constellation for Saleen.

Saleen was not coming up with strange ideas by himself, because Sky City contained astrologers’ equipment. In the olden days, there would have been countless constellations above Sky City. The constellations were much more powerful than magic nets. The entire Sky City could not possibly be attacked from above.

Saleen wanted to obtain Sky City’s fragments, and allow the island to fly. He wanted to put in place something similar above the island. The refining was to make preparations for the future.

Saleen and Jason took out all of the materials they both had, including the construction materials Saleen had plundered from the various temples and Sreeger Island’s resources that had been accumulating over thousands of years.

Out of all the materials, the most suitable ones were selected and then distributed to the different sections where the refining would take place.

Close to 10,000 mages were busy for a month. The eight level 10 mage trainers refined the core, crafting the God of Puppets’ heart fragments into the Puppet Constellation’s core. Layer after layer of spare parts were assembled on it. Every day, Saleen and Jason would use Water Flame Alchemy to fuse the spare parts to the core.

The project was huge. Even if it was only a piece of medium equipment for personal use, the amount of materials consumed was unmatched even compared to large equipment.

On the last day, Saleen summoned the big guy. He solemnly said to the large puppet, “Big guy, I have refined a piece of equipment and need a weapon’s spirit. If you are willing...”

“I am willing!”

Saleen never thought that the puppet would immediately agree. The big guy had birthed a soul with great difficulty. Becoming a weapon’s spirit was equivalent to losing a lot of freedom.

“You must think it through clearly. I will not force you.”

The gigantic puppet kneeled in front of Saleen’s feet, and reverently said, “My Master, as a puppet, my ending will always be tragic. I have been clear about this pointthat. The two puppets used me. I knew, but I was powerless to resist. I believe Master will let me live on and continue to grow. That will be enough. Eventually there will come a day when I will want to break free from the position of a weapon’s spirit. When that time comes, I know that Master will give me freedom.”

Saleen paused once again. “Since that is the case, after three days we will begin the refining ceremony. Within these three days, I will give you a lot of materials and help you to toughen up your body and even advance. I will need your help in many other areas in the future.”

“I am willing to serve Master.” The big guy’s expression already had a degree of piousness to it, as if he was a disciple facing his god.

Saleen retrieved a piece of the God of Puppets’ heart fragment and handed it to the big guy. “Go ahead and absorb this. Your body has suffered too much damage and your soul is not stable enough. In the new equipment, you will obtain much greater power, but the recovery of your soul is a lengthy process.”

“Many thanks, Master.” The big guy inserted the God of Puppets’ heart fragment into his body.

It was approaching October. Metatrin City’s harbor had completely frozen over, and heavy snow covered the country. Only the arena in the western part of the city was still bustling with activity. Apart from the arena, the entire country was silent, as if the war raging in the middle of the continent had nothing to do with Saleen’s world.

On that day, the temple’s surrounding suddenly became lively, because Saleen’s Puppet Constellation was about to complete its final step of refinement. All the mages wanted to see exactly what the equipment would look like.

The part of the refining they had participated in was the simplest. Even so, among the mages who had participated, there were ones who had advanced by two levels. The ones who had been promoted by one level consisted of an even greater proportion. Only a small minority of mage mages had only stabilized their levels.

10,000 temple guards sealed off the area surrounding the temple to prevent any disturbances. The mages looked towards the sky, where at the top of the temple, Saleen held a piece of equipment the size of an eyeball in his palm. He was excited.

The success of the equipment had exceeded his own expectations. All of the God of Puppets’ heart fragments had been smelted in and the Puppet Constellation thoroughly completed.

The big guy had been absorbed into the Puppet Constellation’s core. His body had fused and turned into a weapon’s spirit’s state. Saleen’s soul completely controlled it.

“It really is perfect.” The Puppet Constellation slowly lifted off Saleen’s palm and expanded. The sky darkened, the sun eclipsed by the Puppet Constellation. A beautiful starlight enveloped the temple, emanating from the river of stars that ran across everything above the temple.

Saleen had never felt the power of constellations as clearly as he did then. Based on his intuition, if he used the Comet Flash, it would not consume any mental power. The Puppet Constellation would communicate with the constellations in the sky, attract the power of constellations, and allow Saleen to use it. Its effects would be much more powerful and much easier.

Saleen soared upwards without using Quickcloud. He borrowed the power of constellations and floated into the sky. The feeling was wonderful. Saleen floated along the tracks of the constellations, and then started to jump.

The gigantic Puppet Constellation floated above the temple. It rotated, showing the tens of thousands of puppets waiting for Saleen’s summons.

“Mages, attack!” Saleen yelled loudly.

Over 9,000 mages followed the planned order and made their move. Magic spells from the six great elements danced and filled the sky. There was no particular target, but a large proportion of them were aimed towards the Puppet Constellation.

The level 10 mage trainers did not move, but the power of the more than 9,000 mages still far exceeded 3,600 demonic spirits. The control of the magic spells allowed the properties of the magic spells to attain a high level. The power that had been explosively released was also of the most powerful rank within each type of magic.

The magic spells were submerged in the river of stars and absorbed. The thousands of star patterns had borne the magic powers of less than 9,000 separately. Within the Puppet Constellation, the big guy’s body solidified and took form, changing into a 300-meter-tall puppet.

The puppet held a long whip. The power of constellations was flowing along the long whip. There were thousands of figures that Saleen had refined into the Puppet Constellation to act as the big guy’s protective forces.

The startled cries of the mages spread. All of Metatrin City was able to hear the commotion from the temple.

The remaining mages were still attacking, but they merely wanted to see what the limits of the powerful equipment were. After all of the mages had attacked for two rounds, Saleen began to feel that the equipment was somewhat unable to bear it any longer.

“Alright, stop.” The mages stopped their attacks. Saleen, under the attack of tens of thousands of magic spells, had not suffered from a single unexpected attack.

The magic spells that had entered into the area controlled by the Puppet Constellations had not been weakened at all. Saleen was just able to dodge them.

The trajectory of fate had been accurately seen by Saleen. Saleen’s astrology had finally been promoted to level 10.
