“Roku!”

The devil stepped into the purgatory, and a booming voice was heard from the sky. The devil was terrified, as it was the last part of their true name.

The place smelled unmistakably like the demon plane, yet the devil Roku did not feel a slightest hint of familiarity. The low level devil was nowhere to be found, and a vast wasteland opened up before them.

No. This is just a small dungeon, far smaller than even an island on the Vile Sea. The devil was shocked. Is this the Devil Cage? The space said to be created by the most powerful king among demons in the legends?

Impossible. The ancient devils are all dead. I wouldn’t have been able to take the Blade of Power otherwise.

The bloodline of the supreme demons were beings with a very long lifespan. The devil Roku had been alive for over 30,000 years, and they had very deep impressions of very powerful demons. Back then, common demons were able to advance to above level ten, supreme demons were powerful beings capable of reaching level 13, and devils — there were none below level 13.

The place smelled like the demon plane of old. How is it possible for something that is not an ancient demon to be able to create such a place? The devil looked up. Their forehead split and a third eye appeared.

The eye had a bright purple iris and looked incredibly evil. All negative emotions coalesced in the eye. The devils were still capable of finding ways of advancing after the power of the demon plane dropped. Roku did so by materializing the Evil Eye, coalescing all negative statuses on them in that eye. The eye was crafted into a powerful piece of equipment.

The edge of the purgatory of the devils lay at the end of the 36 mile-high sky. The yellowish color in the air was not from a sun. Their Evil Eye was unable to find the target. The space’s edges, length, width, height, even underground space, were all 36 miles long. Some weak demons were found living on the land, but the only thing they were unable to find was the devil who drew Roku in.

Nailisi had actually left the place a while ago. She found no point of tangling with the devil. The clash had caused the bones in her arm to shatter. If both sides were unarmed, it would have been incredibly difficult for her to win against the devil. The Dragon Crystal Needle was still inside the devil’s body, but Nailisi was in no mood to retrieve it.

She left the 12 Notes of First Purgatory and stored the huge cleaver in a dimension stone, isolating the terrifying power emanating from the blade.

The cleaver did not even allow Nailisi to touch it unless she was armed with Lightning Protection. Nailisi did not want to waste her time taking the weapon. The Blade of Power did not suit her. Her Grey Memory was more than enough for her.

The portal was destroyed. Nailisi deliberately used a level seven magic nucleus instead of one above level nine to lay the magic array precisely to achieve such an effect. The Devil, Roku, crossed all the way onto Myers Mainland, and the act depleted all the power of the magic array. Even the magic patterns drawn on the steel rock were wiped clean.

Her shattered arm bones were caused by power of rules, which meant that it would take her quite a while before she could recover. It was unlike common injuries, as she was required to purge the power of rules lingering within her arm, or her injury would have never been able to heal completely.

Nailisi had no choice but to return to her imp form. She did not want to keep enduring the constant pain in her devil form.

She put the Grey Memory away as well, taking out the Sword of Rules instead. Nailisi was only able to see the advantage provided by the Sword of Rules. It was capable of dealing massive damage to an enemy, even if one had no comprehension of the 24 rules etched into it. Grey Memory was powered by mental powers, but the Sword of Rules was simply a weapon with huge destructive powers.

The Sword of Rules apparently paled in comparison to the Blade of Power, but it was a more fitting weapon for Nailisi.

Nailisi saw the ancient warrior that Saleen had given her for protection lost a leg and felt rather sad about it. The soul of the ancient warrior was under control and knew no pain. They simply stood with their remaining leg. Nailisi waved and sent the ancient warrior into the purgatory of the fallen.

Within the purgatory, the ancient warrior, which had an Eternal Control shard in it, would be free from any signs of degeneration for the time being, and Nailisi’s double would not attack them either. All the living beings born within the purgatory would avoid the thing with only one leg left. The ancient warrior simply remained standing in the middle of the purgatory, staring blankly at the sky.

A huge altar hovered in the sky of the purgatory of the fallen and there were two figures seen at the altar: one being Nailisi’s double, and the other being the original body of the Divine Baby, which was shackled by the Shackles of the Fallen. The Divine Baby’s body did not have divine fire within it and seemed to be asleep. Other than emanating a powerful aura, the body was no threat.

Nailisi’s double was researching the original body of the Divine Baby. If it were to become able to consume the body, the double’s power would exceed Nailisi’s, forming its own personality and soul. If that were to happen, it would be a revival of a pseudogod and Nailisi would no longer be able to control her double.

However, that double apparently had no such intentions. The Shackles of the Fallen’s chains went right through the Divine Baby’s original body. If the double were to consume it, it would be put under the Shackles of the Fallen’s control.

Nailisi’s double felt rather ridiculous. What the hell am I thinking? Eating that thing up and betraying myself? I’m part of Nailisi! What use would it be if I were to split and acquire more power? If I were to split, and even if me and the main body were to be able maintain ourselves as separate entities after that, I would lose the unique attributes of a luoluokaluo. That would be one hell of a loss indeed.

Nailisi’s double threw a sliver of energy from the altar, which penetrated the ancient warrior’s body. The ancient warrior’s broken limb no longer had blood dripping from the wound.

Not only was the purgatory of the fallen cut off from the faith of the gods, it weakened any rules that did not belong to the space. Everything was under Nailisi’s double’s control. The injury sustained by the ancient warrior would not worsen any further.

The reason why Saleen had so many expectations of the piece of equipment belonging to Nailisi was because when the collection of purgatories was completed, the 12 spaces with their own respective rules would be able to connect with each other, bringing a damage potential far higher than the sum of 12 purgatory spaces. When the 12 Notes of First Purgatory was completed, all rules within would be united as one and form a massive space of rules.

Eventually, the 12 Notes of First Purgatory would meld into one world: Purgatory of Rules.

That was the luoluokaluo’s true weapon, something that could have only be created by that unique bloodline. When the weapon was completed, no one would ever be able to take it away from Nailisi ever again. Anyone else who attempted to wield Purgatory of Rules would be split into multiple personalities, causing their soul to fall apart.

But then again, there was nothing absolute with the world. If another luoluokaluo with powers exceeding that of Nailisi were to appear and take the Purgatory of Rules away, they would be able to slowly convert it to their own weapon. However, even in ancient times, it would have been very difficult for a luoluokaluo to grow to Nailisi’s level.

Saleen’s judgment had been apt. Nailisi would become his most powerful weapon.

Roku’s expression turned adamant in the purgatory of the devils. They had no idea why they were unable to find the devil who drew them in. Roku knew that their powers were at least halved without the Blade of Power, which meant that there was no way for them to escape the space. Their subjects, hundreds of millions of demons, would be taken away by other devils.

Tears rolled out Roku’s purple eye at the very thought.

Thousands of years of effort had turned to nothing. Many of their underlings and subjects would become food, split between other devils and supreme demons. Why did I act so impulsively? If I had simply cut the portal apart, none of this would have happened.

Blue and purple light shone from the Evil Eye, attempting to look for an opening in the space to no avail. The space was complete, independent, and sealed. Roku had never seen another prison so perfect before.

There were about 70,000 demons terrorizing Yaoyang City at the moment. Nailisi’s demons were only there to steal souls, while those summoned from the demon plane were having a feast.

The city had turned into a purgatory in certain ways. The air was thick with the smell of blood and gore, shooting high into the sky. With soul collection going well, Nailisi did not want to spend anymore time in the city. She had another ancient warrior take Charles and left.

Over a thousand demons died, as the army and some mercenaries were still capable of fighting. When they knew they would have no way to escape, the resisting humans brought tremendously powerful combat capacity to bear. More than 3000 demons sustained varying levels of injuries and they too, were taken away by Nailisi, but they were could not be put away in the purgatory of the devils, as there was a very troubling fellow down there.

There were more than 40,000 summoned demons in the city and Nailisi had no intentions of taking those with her. She simply took her own demon army and left Yaoyang City. They headed for Ceylon City after regrouping.

There was no straight route leading from Yaoyang City to Ceylon City, so they needed to take a detour around the fort that Saleen built. There were new recruits garrisoning the fort. The Sikeqinyan army did not storm it. An army was left there to keep the fort in check. The strategy had been a sound one. When the Sikeqinyans took down Ceylon City, the fort would have had no choice but to surrender.

Nailisi took her demon army and crushed the mercenaries that were caught off guard. The demons did not go inside the fort after trampling the enemy camp. They took the longer route and went straight for Ceylon City.

Saleen built a number of forts along the way. There were over 20 military facilities of varying sizes along the 500-mile path. The forts were ill-suited for attacks and the only good thing about them was that they were easily defensible. From a strategic point of view, building constructs that were only capable of defense was a waste of money and personnel.

But Saleen never had any intentions of using the forts for attacking. He had only wanted to slow down the Sikeqinyan army’s advance, keeping their forces in check. The forts were watched by at least two small enemy mercenary groups, keeping an eye on Saleen’s new recruits.

The demon army slaughtered their way back to Ceylon City, killing every single mercenary group they encountered along the way. While she did not have anyone powerful at her side, a dozen or so supreme demon generals were more than enough for the job. The small Sikeqinyan mercenary groups had a great difference with the larger ones in terms of combat capacity.

Nailisi went on an onslaught from behind. They were on the road for little more than a day and arrived at Ceylon City by the third day.

The battle outside Ceylon City was in full force. The Sikeqinyan army was attacking the city.
