Atticus’s Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground
Chapter 1169 - 1169: BenevolentAs he heard it, Atticus’s eyes had widened in realization, and instantly, the two of them began discussing how to make their idea work.
When a god battled another in the Arena of Gods, their entire planet would be enveloped by their World’s Will.
This divine barrier stopped any outside intervention, especially surprise attacks from another god.
That should’ve made what they had in mind impossible.
But to Atticus’s shock, Whisker had only grinned. He brought up one thing, the Zorvan portal.
Apparently, the portal had been created by the Zorvan god himself. An extension of his World’s Will.
Which meant… he had linked the Zorvan world with Eldoralth, merging them into one. As long as the portal remained active, anything entering from Eldoralth wouldn’t be considered foreign. It would pass through without resistance.
Only the Zorvan god could stop this from happening. Which was why they had a countermeasure for him, too.
Here, Whisker revealed a secret he had been holding onto for a while. During one of the brief periods after Atticus had fainted, he had quietly left the Aegis Shield and the planet, searching until he found a random world.
And then he became its god.
Beyond Eldoralth and the Zorvan world, there were countless worlds scattered across the lower plane.
But most were weak, insignificant. Their people were frail compared to the might of Eldoralth and the Zorvans.
Becoming the god of such a world would do almost nothing. Not in terms of power. Not in terms of progression.
The goal for Whisker and his siblings had always been to ascend to the Midplane, and these scraps weren’t enough. Not even close.
That was why they had focused on the major worlds.
But Whisker’s reason for taking over that weak world… was to make this exact plan possible.
And with that revelation, everything had fallen into place.
Atticus’s footsteps rang softly across the blue grass. His hand reached down to his katana and held it.
The plan had been simple.
Whisker would forcibly pull Varnok away from the Zorvan world. And while he battled him, kept him occupied, Atticus would enter through the portal.
Without the inhabitants… there would be no World’s Will.
That was the goal.
To achieve it, he would erase it.
He would erase the Zorvan world.
A burning crimson glow erupted from his body, collapsing into an armor of molten scarlet.
He was about to unleash carnage onto the Zorvan world.
Children. Families. The elderly. Every single one of them. But his expression remained calm. Still. Unshaken.
Like the surface of a lake undisturbed by storm.
He had already made peace with himself. When it was necessary… he would not hesitate.
And this… this was necessary.
In the next instant, his aura exploded.
A wave of searing crimson swept across the land, engulfing kilometers in every direction.
The cities nearby, caught in the edge of the blast, vanished. People, buildings, everything… turned to cinders before they could even register what had happened.
Atticus drew his katana.
And then he sank into a stance. It was the first stance he had ever learned.
The first art.
One leg forward. Both hands gripping the hilt. Body hunched low.
His gaze locked far ahead.
The air around him trembled. The air seemed to pull back, parting under the weight of what was about to be unleashed.
Atticus took in a breath, and a single word rolled off his tongue.
“Transcendent Slash: Godspeed Grace.”
The ground beneath him cracked for kilometers, spiderwebbing in every direction.
Then, Atticus vanished.
A burst of world ending speed exploded across the Zorvan world. A streak of red light shot across the lands, faster than thought, faster than understanding.
It moved everywhere.
Encampments. Cities. Villages tucked deep in the wild.
And it found heads. It found torsos. It found lives.
And without hesitation… it ended them.
For an instant, the Zorvan blue world turned crimson.
Then, Atticus appeared atop a cliff, breathing calmly. The Zorvan world might have been smaller than Eldoralth, but it was still massive. It took a moment, just a moment, for the world to register what had happened.
And when it did… there was nothing left.
Only carnage.
…
A dark brown light collided with pale blue, unleashing a shockwave that shook the air.
A streak of blue shot out from the haze of blinding light, crashing violently against the golden floor.
“Did you really think bringing me here would change anything?”
Varnok’s voice was calm, almost like an elder brother admonishing a junior. But there was no affection in his gaze. Only cold, merciless clarity.
“Shit, that hurts.”
If Whisker could cough out blood, he would’ve. But their real bodies weren’t even here, only their avatars.
Still, each clash against this monstrous brother of his sent pain echoing through every fiber of his being.
His form flickered, reduced to a faint blue shimmer, barely clinging to existence.
He couldn’t keep this up for long. He was going to die.
“Heh.”
Yet, even now, Whisker laughed.
Varnok frowned. “Do you truly not recognize your loss? That child will fall to the twins. You… to me. I will become Eldoralth’s god, and then ascend to the middle plane.”
“Pfft.”
Whisker only laughed harder, gazing at Varnok in amusement. “And I’m the delusional one? Ha!”
Varnok’s frown deepened. “Have you gone mad?”
“Me? Crazy?” Whisker grinned wide. “Who’s the crazy one here? The fact that you think this ends any other way but with your death is what’s hilarious!”
Varnok’s eyes narrowed. Then, he sighed.
“What happened to your mother… was tragic,” he said slowly. “And I want to offer you a path. A path to enact your revenge on our father. Why do you keep refusing it? Do you not care for your vengeance?”
Whisker stared at him and smiled.
Varnok looked like a benevolent man, like he actually cared. But he didn’t. He was just like the Gardener. Manipulative. Dangerous. The kind that masked their poison behind kind smiles and gentle hands.
At least the Gardener was openly wicked.
Varnok… he wrapped his evil in the warm illusion of love. A brother. A father figure. A guide.
