Chapter 223: Cursed Fairies

“Oh come on… we aren’t cursed, Old man. I have been living in this forest for the past thirty years.

I got married, my husband ran away with my son and some slut from the village and you still believe in that curse thing ?” Mia asked with a serious expression as she looked at the old man.

“They didn’t ran away, Mia. The forest never let’s the villagers escape… You know that. They must be dead out there somewhere.” The old man replied with a serious expression.

’What the hell is she talking about ? How are they cursed ?’ Leon thought with a confused expression.

“Master… There.” Dusk spoke as he pointed towards the ground.

Leon looked down and noticed something strange on the ground.

He immediately pushed the snow away and noticed that it was a stone slab with runes engraved over it.

“What is this ?” Leon asked with a confused expression as he immediately activated his skill.

’Level 330 !?’ Leon thought with a shocked expression as he immediately closed the status screen.

“Hehe… Fresh food.”

“Can I eat his legs ?”

“I want to eat his head.”

“No, No… I will first burn him over the fire and then eat him.”

As soon as one of them stepped into the moonlight, Leon noticed her gruesome face.

Black vines were growing out of her eyes, nose and ears… Her skin was rotten and bugs were living in their arms and legs.

“Dusk… Get ready to run, we are-”

“M-Ma-ster… H-Help.” Dusk’s voice came from behind.

As soon as Leon turned around, he noticed another cursed fairy standing right behind him and she was grabbing dusk by the throat.

“This one seems more tasty and more meat on his body…. This should be enough to satisfy master for tonight.” The fairy spoke as she started walking away with Dusk.

“I am only going to say this once… Leave him.” Leon spoke with a very serious expression as he looked at the fairy and inserted his hand inside his pocket.

His eyes immediately turned completely dark as he pulled out all the exploding beads he had in his pocket.

“Hmmm…? Don’t worry, we are going to eat you as well. I am just taking your pet monster as food for my master.” The fairy spoke as she continued to walk forward.

“Suit yourself…” Leon spoke as he immediately threw all the beads towards her and spoke the word.

Multiple explosions took place in the forest and smoke covered the whole area… Even the village.

“W-What is happening ?”

“I-I can’t see anything.”

“Why is there so much smoke ?”

“What were those explosions ?”

All the villagers started panicking and shouting as they immediately ran into their homes and started hiding.

Suddenly, thousands of wind blades tore through the smoke and cleared the vision.

“Where are they ?” One of the cursed fairy asked as she looked at her partner.

“I didn’t see…”

“Your hand.” One of them spoke as she pointed towards the fairy that was holding Dusk before the explosion.

As soon as the fairy turned to look at her hand, she noticed that it was cut from the middle.

“Hmm….?”

*Swish*

But in a split second black vines started growing out of her wound and created a whole new hand.

“Look… There they are.” One of the fairy spoke as she pointed towards the village and noticed that Leon and Dusk are lying unconscious inside the village.

The wounds on Leon’s body healed really fast but Dusk’s wounds weren’t healing that fast, blood was flowing out of his body without any stops.

*Blink-Blink*

Leon slowly opened his eyes and noticed that all the fairies looking at him with a neutral expressions.

“Hmm… Master won’t be very pleased to know that we didn’t bring anything for him to eat.”

“Let’s go and hunt some other monster.”

“You are lucky.”

The fairies spoke as they left immediately after that.

“Fuck…” Leon murmured in a low voice as he slowly stood up and noticed that Dusk’s blood was all over his body.

“Dusk ? Are you alright ?” Leon asked as he slowly placed his hand over his chest and noticed that his heart was still working.

’I should supply him some mana…’ He thought as he immediately started giving mana to Dusk.

“W-Who are you ?” A scared voice came from the left voice.

Leon slowly turned his head to left side and noticed the same girl ’Mia’ standing there with her legs trembling in fear and she was holding a stick in her hands.

“Hello, Mia.” Leon spoke with a neutral expression as he waved his hand at her.

“H-How do you know my name ?” Mia asked with a scared and confused expression.

“Hah… Good question.” Leon replied as he looked at dusk and noticed that he was moving his paws slowly.

“Dusk… Can you hear me ?” He asked with a confused expression.

“W-We have to kill that monster. M-Monsters can’t enter inside the village… We have to-” Mia spoke as she started walking towards Dusk with her stick but Leon immediately snatched the stick from her hand and broke it.

*Break*

“He is not a monster. So, try to-” Suddenly Leon felt weakness in his body.

’I am not regenerating mana. Why ?’ He thought with a serious expression.

“Who are you ?” A sound came from behind as a cold iron blade was placed against Leon’s neck.

“Haa…” Leon turned around and noticed a very muscular man standing behind him.

“I am not from around here. Some cursed fairies were trying to kill me… So I just jumped into your Village.” Leon spoke with a serious expression.

“This monster… Is he with you ?” The man asked with a serious expression.

“Yes and if any of you tried to touch him… I swear he or she won’t see tomorrow’s light.” Leon threatened with a serious expression.

As soon as the skill was activated, Leon felt some of his mana chipping away.

“You can’t use magic here… Don’t try to give me threats kid. The man spoke with a serious expression as sweat started forming over his forehead.

“You don’t want to try me… Didn’t you hear the explosions a few seconds ago ? I did that and I won’t hesitate to do them here.

So, you better take this blade off from my neck or…”

“O-Okay… Okay, I-I am not hurting you man.” The man replied with a hesitated and scared expression as he immediately removed the sword from Leon’s neck.

“You look so young… What are you doing here in these woods, Kid ?” The old man asked as he took a step towards Leon.

“I had no plans to interrupt you guys and your little village. I will leave tomorrow.” Leon replied with a neutral expression.

“You can’t leave here, Kid.” The old man replied with a serious expression.

“What ?” Leon asked with a confused expression.

“The nearest forest exit is too far to cover on foot and even if you use this monster as your ride… I don’t think you can make it to the exit before evening.

Once the evening arrives… You will be doomed, the cursed creatures that you just encountered will kill you and eat you.” The old man replied with a serious expression.

“I think we should talk about this tomorrow. Should I show him to James’ old house ?”
