Chapter 177: The mana Complexer
Seventh Floor, Dungeon.
*Swish*
Leon, Fruela, and Dusk emerged at the floor’s entrance. Their presence shifted the air in the room as silence settled around them like a heavy veil. The distant echoes of their footsteps rang sharply as they walked inside the room.
Elis and Rees were standing by the throne, as if anticipating their arrival.
“Ah, you’re back, Mr. Leon. I just heard what happened from the dungeon core, are you alright ? Should I bring something to heal injuries if you have sustained any ?” Rees asked, his tone respectful but strained as he turned to face them.
Leon’s eyes narrowed with frustration as he looked at Rees. “We need to increase this dungeon’s security. I want traps. Lethal ones. Stupid thiefs like them shouldn’t be able to just wander into my dungeon.
This is not a public space that you can use as you please.”
Rees nodded immediately. “I can understand the feeling. My own dungeon was raided by theifs. I can set up deadly traps. Triggers will ensure anyone who activates them dies on the spot. Would you like me to set them up ?”
Leon gave a curt nod. “Good. Start working on them. Elis—start preparing the aphrodisiac needles I told you about before and the gas chambers as well on the third floor.”
“Shall I also consume the swords and metals from the corpses on the first floor, Master ? I can use them to make better needles.” Elis asked, her voice neutral, her posture perfect.
“Yes. And clear the corpses while you’re at it, I will bring materials today, so that doors can be added on each floor.
They will stay open all the time, but close immediately as soon as any intruder enters inside the dungeon.” Leon replied without hesitation as he looked at Elis.
“As you command, Master.” Elis vanished into thin air.
Leon turned his gaze to Fruela and Dusk. “You two—go to the forest. Take a slime with you. Gather trees, fruits, and whatever else your people can eat. I would’ve bought it from the market, but buying that much at once raises suspicion. So, you will have to hunt for your kind.”
Fruela immediately dropped to one knee. “Master, allow us to hunt and forage. Adult Dark Elves know the forest well. I will lead them. Please, entrust this task to me.”
Leon paused, then nodded. “Fine. Do it your way. Dusk, accompany them. When you return, bring trees and some medicinal herbs as well.”
“As you command, Master.” They both bowed and left through the exit immediately.
’It’s time to turn this place into a proper dungeon. I have to supply more mana to Elis, so that she can evolve to rank-D.’ Leon thought in his mind as he walked upto the throne and took a seat.
…
Rees glanced sideways. “Aphrodisiac needles… For the females ?”
Leon smiled slightly. “Yep.”
“So, should I focus on sexual traps or deadly ones ?” Rees asked as he looked at Leon.
“You just focus on deadly traps. Me and Elis will take care of the sexual traps. I’m not letting another idiotic thief party come here and touch my stuff.” Leon ordered as he looked at Rees.
“Understood. I’ll handle the death traps then,” Rees replied, turning to leave.
“Rees,” Leon called out.
“Yes ?” Rees halted immediately.
“Do you know of a spell that lets me teleport directly to the dungeon from anywhere… without having to supply mana to both sides at once ?” Leon asked with a neutral expression.
Rees turned back thoughtfully as he looked at Leon. “That kind of spell isn’t possible unless you have a personal teleportation skill. But… there’s something else. A workaround. You can create Tele-Points—short for teleportation checkpoints.”
Leon raised an eyebrow. “Tele-Points?”
“Yes. Using magic circles made from a rare chemical. These Circles can only Teleport a small group of upto five people at once maximum.
Set up a host circle inside the dungeon, and then install tele-points wherever you want. When you supply mana to one, it activates the circle and teleports you back to the host circle..”
Leon leaned back into the throne with a suspicious expression. “There’s a ’But’ coming with it, I can sense. What is it?”
Rees immediately placed his hand over his skull. “Hahaha… but The chemical it requires—Mana Complexer— and it is nearly impossible to brew.
Even elite alchemists can’t do it. I found a brilliant alchemist many years ago, but he could only make a 50% accurate version of the original thing. I used that to create my Necroheart, but it was stolen.”
Leon’s eyes sharpened. “What exactly is this chemical ?”
“Mana Complexer, or as I call it—the Wonder Chemical. It stores massive mana, refines it faster than a human heart.
You can just leave it outside and it will automatically start to suck in all the mana around it.
It was used in heavy ancient spells before humans turned to simpler incantations. Nobody uses it now because… well, no one can make it now.”
Rees sighed. “I’ve tried more than ten times in just the last few hours. If I keep failing, I’ll have to find a good alchemist and there are almost zero chances that anyone out there will even knows what this is.
It requires a very precious set of skills, calculations and patience in order to make this. I hope, I don’t have to re-buy all the materials.”
Suddenly, Leon rose from the throne and started walking towards him. “Let’s go.”
Rees blinked as he looked at Leon. “Go ? Where ?”
“To make your Wonder Chemical.” Leon spoke with a neutral expression.
“Right, like that’s actually going to work, it’s not a joke Mr. Leon. That chemical is very very hard, as I already said close to almost impossible.” Rees chuckled mockingly, following him half-heartedly.
But he stopped mid-step. Near the wall, Kai was sitting stiff and terrified, as if frozen in time.
Leon noticed. “What’s wrong with him ?” He asked with a confused expression.
“Ever since he saw me, he’s been like that—trembling like a wet cat, I can’t tell if he is afraid or just sad.” Rees said dryly as he pointed towards Kai.
’Obviously, he is afraid.’ Leon thought with a neutral expression.
Leon approached as he placed his hand over his shoulder. “Kai, go home.”
“B-But… D-Don’t you want to b-blindfold me ?” Kai asked, shivering.
“No. Just walk east for thirty meters and you’ll be out of the forest. But remember—if you ever mention this dungeon’s location… Rees will pay you a visit.” Leon spoke with a smile as he looked at Kai.
Kai nodded furiously and bolted up the stairs.
Rees asked as he titled his skull in confusion. “What’s wrong with him ?”
“Not everyone is ready to see an undead skeleton pacing around a room, Rees.” Leon replied flatly.
As they reached the sixth floor, Leon glanced around the chemical slabs and noticed that it was a mess.
“Are you… an alchemist, Mr. Leon?” Rees asked with a confused expression.
“Yes.” Leon replied with a neutral expression.
Rees followed Leon to the workspace. “Wow…”
Leon rolled up his sleeves. “List the elements.”
Rees hesitated. “Shouldn’t you already know the elements if you are going to make—”
Leon’s cold stare shut him up immediately.
“R-Right. I’ll get the materials,” Rees mumbled, scrambling to place small bowls onto the table.
Five minutes Later…
“Okay, These are all the materials. The vampire’s blood will reach with kimon’s root and when you start to heat it-” Rees started to explain the making process but Leon interrupted him immediately.
“That’s enough. Potion Crafter…” Leon spoke as he activated his skill.
“Potion what ?” Rees asked with a confused expression as he couldn’t understand what Leon was trying to do.
<Potion Crafter>
[Analyzing Materials]
[Choose Potion that you want to craft:]
[Mana Complexer]
Without wasting another second, Leon clicked on the one and only option.
Suddenly, A very bright shine covered the whole table.
Leon immediately closed his eyes and as soon as the light disappeared, A loud voice enter inside his ears.
“WHAT THE FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK !????????”
Leon opened his eyes and noticed that Rees’ jaw was hanging down and he is staring at the table.
Leon looked down and noticed that all the elements have disappeared from the bowls and only a water like substance is remaining in the middle bowl.
“Did it fail ?” Leon asked with a confused expression.
“I-I think… I am having a fucking heart attack.” Rees spoke as he looked at Leon.
“You are dead.” Leon spoke with a neutral expression.
“How can you make such a pure mana Complexer ? This is absolutely pure… No, it’s more than pure. How is this possible !?” Rees asked as he slowly dipped his fingers into the liquid and felt something.
Leon on the other hand used his skill on the liquid.
<Inspect>
[Name: Mana Complexer]
[Rank: ??]
[Type: Synthesizer]
[Description: A complex chemical made from twelve different elements. A single drop of mana Complexer can store immense amount of mana in it. Can be used to strengthen potions, foods, magic circles, dungeon cores and make necrohearts for undeads.
The liquid stays in pure water like form, but starts to change colour as it sucks more and more mana into itself.
Water like > light blue > blue > dark blue > purple … > Pure White.
When the liquid turns pure white, that means it has refined all the mana in it and it won’t suck in anymore mana.]
’Why is the rank showing as question marks ?’ Leon thought with a confused expression.
