Chapter 1904: Changes In The Azure Continent II
The group did not follow Alice as she visited her family, they felt she should be allowed to spend some family time with them. While she was with her family, Grey and the others toured the City, even though it was not the first time they were coming to this City, it was completely different from the last time. There was not only an increase in cultivation of the overall population, but even the items on sale saw an increase in quality, which was to be expected.
Just like humans, the quality of treasures are determined by the quality of the essence in the place they formed. Take Grey and his friends for instance, the moment they left the Azure Continent, it was like they received a baptism, growing at shocking speed. Even for people in the Aurora Continent, the speed of Grey and his friends could only be described as shocking.
Take Kyle for instance, he is someone that could be regarded as a genius. Yet he was not close to even the weakest from Grey’s group, despite being born in the Aurora Continent. If Grey and his friends had grown up in the Aurora Continent, it was unknown what their situation would be like.
A day went by peacefully as the group stayed in the City, waiting for Alice to return.
Klaus took Luthera to somewhere close he loved visiting with his father as a child, while Grey and Reynolds were left to hang out together.
Reynolds suggested they visit the arena located in this City. Most Cities in the Azure Continent had fighting arenas, and having nothing else to do, Reynolds felt it was better than staying idle. Grey did not have any problems with visiting a fighting arena. When they were in the Azure Continent, especially during their time in the Lunar Academy, they visited the arena on multiple occasions to hone their skills.
When they got there, Grey saw a lot of youngsters trying out their hands in these fights. Some of them were able to overwhelm their opponents, while others were badly beaten. There were a few who managed to turn certain defeat into victory with pure grit and determination, a feeling Grey had slowly forgotten about. With the increase of his strength, he had barely been in situations that could be described as certain defeat. Even when he could not win most fights, his space element gave him the chance to escape. Due to this, he had forgotten how it feels to be hopeless.
Watching these youngsters fight and change their predicament with sheer willpower reignited a feeling in him that he had lost. When he had the Fusion State, he used to be daring, knowing he had a trump card that could change the trajectory of any battle he was in. However, the moment he broke through to the Venerable Plane, he lost this ability and has since then become very cautious with his actions. This was expected though, when he still had the Fusion State, he could increase his cultivation stage by more than five stages. Adding his freakish strength to it meant that even after increasing his strength, he could still fight someone a stage higher than what he increased it to, which made him even more heaven-defying.
The duo spent a lot of time in the arena. Klaus and Luthera came to meet them while they were still watching a battle between two Peak Origin Plane Elementalists. Both were young ladies who looked to be only around fifteen years of age, and they were both aggressive fighters just as Alice used to be when they were around this age.
The group spent a total of three days in Alice’s home City, taking in as much of the local life as they could. The few times Grey visited this place, he did not have the time to tour the City in this manner as he was only a kid who could not protect himself then. Now, he could wipe out this entire City with just a finger.
The battle won by the group a few years ago catapulted the reputation of Alice’s Family to the top, the same could be said for Reynolds’s Family as well. After all, Grey and his friends were the biggest winners in that war and showed everyone that they were above the rest. Having a powerhouse like Chris then meant no one would want to offend them. They took advantage of the opportunity and grew massively, fully dominating this entire region.
Alice’s Family is seen as the number one Family under the Royal Family, and even the Royal Family did not dare to slight them. Even though neither Chris, nor Grey and his friends had made an appearance all this while, no one wanted to offend them and find out if they were still around.
Reynolds’s Family were more low-key, not letting the fame of their son being acquainted to the number one expert in the Continent get to them. Compared to Alice’s Family they were originally a small family, and they did not try to act out of place, ensuring they stayed away from trouble. Of course, the Family grew in strength as some experts joined them. Even though everyone knew these experts were only trying to attach themselves to Chris, no one had any issues. The world has always been like this, people who would normally look down on Reynolds’s Family became the ones who protected their interests outside just to gain their favor. And all this was because they were affiliated to Chris.
Grey and Klaus were the only ones people could not draw heads or tails over. While Grey was still in the Azure Continent, his background has always been vague. There was no knowledge of his Family other than when they suddenly showed up in Red City. When they went to Red City, they heard how Grey did not awaken his elements until he was the age of fifteen, which shocked them even more, knowing just how strong Grey was during the war.
