Chapter 1886: Decisive Action

Grey did not bother with the Dragons and the Necromancers, sneaking after the Gnome who rushed into an underground staircase. With the help of his space element and excellent concealment ability, as well as a little bit of his array formations knowledge, he was able to sneak into the formation range without alerting anyone after creating some disturbances in other parts of the formation.

Sneaking behind the Necromancers, he rushed straight for the underground staircase. Following the staircase, he was led to a tunnel that led straight. He followed the path and arrived at the end of the tunnel. In front of him was an underground stream, and in front of it was the Gnome, making a series of hand seals.

Grey wanted to continue watching, but he suddenly felt a chill run down his spine, and without hesitation, he shot forward from where he was hiding, going into the open space in the underground stream.

“Your senses are as sharp as I guessed.” The Gnome did not stop his hand seals as he spoke, slowly turning his head, he took a good look at Grey before a realization dawned on him, “It’s you!”

“Oh, you know me?” Grey paused momentarily, but seeing the Gnome hastily try to take back his Puppet that was previously about to follow up on its initial attack, he stretched out his hand grabbing at the Gnome with a wicked smile. He could tell from the Gnome’s reaction that he recognized him.

The Gnome was still in the middle of his hand seals when he suddenly roared in pain, blood dripping from his nose. Just as Grey’s hand was about to get to him, he clenched his teeth and spat out a blast ball that exploded into a mist as soon as it made contact with Grey’s hand.

Grey instinctively withdrew his hand, not daring to try to test the lethality of this black mist. He could not help but feel like he was missing the best opportunity to take out or at least stop whatever the Gnome was trying to achieve. With a look of conviction, a fusion orb appeared on his palm. He sent the fusion orb at the location the Gnome was previously standing, taking into consideration the strength of the Gnome, he tossed two more fusion orbs there, detonating them before disappearing from the underground stream.

At first he was curious about what the Gnome was trying to do, but seeing how he refused to move even when he was about to be caught, he noticed that it must be something that might turn the scale of the battle to the Necromancer’s side.

Above ground.

The Dragons had destroyed half of the formation set up by the Necromancers in such a short time, and just as they were about to advance, they saw Grey running from inside the building. They did not need to ask any questions as the reason manifested before them. The moment they sensed the power behind the explosion, they retreated half a kilometer back, staring at the large area the explosion covered.

Grey appeared beside the Dragons with a blank expression on his face.

“Boy, was that your doing?” One of the Peak Rank Eight Dragons asked in a cold voice.

“Yes, I stopped him from completing whatever he was doing inside.” Grey hurriedly explained the reason for the explosion. He knew the sudden explosion would startle the Dragons and mess up the battle, but he did not have a choice. It was either he watched the Gnome complete whatever it was making, or stop it. This was the only thing in his arsenal at the moment that might be able to threaten a Peak Sovereign.

The Dragons were about to continue questioning him when a roar of rage came from the middle of the explosion. The previously fast spreading explosion disappeared in an instant, bringing the now large open space into view. The area within three hundred meters of the building was flattened by the explosion, turning it into a large clearing.

When the Dragons saw the number of people present in a protected light in front of them, they could not help but take a second look at Grey. There were previously about just over a hundred people, during the few seconds they had to use the formation to fight against the Dragons, ten or so died. However, with just one attack, Grey took out two thirds of them.

The Gnome wanted to speak, but the Dragons charged forward the moment the dust settled. They were not here to have a conversation with the Necromancers, they came to fight, and that was all that mattered.

Seeing the Dragons charging over without giving them any break, the Gnome wanted to cry but had no tears. He glared at Grey with hate-filled eyes.

Grey did not react to getting a death glare from the Gnome, it was not the first time he was foiling the plans of some Gnomes.

The Necromancers could not deal with the Dragons in their full strength, now that most of them were injured, it was only a matter of how long they could last.

At first Grey did not get involved in the battle, but when he noticed how strong the formation became when the Gnome was added to it, he made a move.

Maybe it was as a result of how powerful the attack he released was, but the Dragons seemed to no longer find him to be an eyesore, and even when he was actively involved with the breaking of the formation, none of them made a fuss.

It took only a few minutes for them to kill off the Necromancers, the Gnome was left alive on Grey’s demand. The Dragons did not have any problems with it as long as the Gnome was a prisoner of the Dragons and would be killed was he was of no use to Grey.

Grey did not even have the intention of taking the Gnome away from this place, questioning him there and then. At first the Gnome did not want to answer any of his questions, but after facing Grey’s psychotic torture, he finally gave in and was killed and burned along with the other corpse.
