Chapter 1884: Preparing For The Worst While Praying For The Best

The Gnome looked at the man dressed in black, asking a little apprehensively, “Are you sure this person is with them?”

If the mystery person is coming here with Dragons, then they must know of their presence here, which is not something he wanted to happen. This mission was handed to him due to its importance, so now that there is a chance it might end up a failure, he was aghast. The Dragon Clan is the last Magical Beasts’ Clan he wanted to be alerted of their business.

“I can sense the aura of the blood essence approaching, and it’s coming from the same direction as the Dragons.” The man in black nodded with certainty, he even closed his eyes to try to sense if he was truly sensing the blood essence, and it was just as powerful as the day he sensed it for the first time.

“How come no one mentioned this mystery person during the reports?” The Gnome looked at the Necromancers in displeasure. A scout came to report the sightings of the Dragons some minutes ago, yet no one has spoken up about a human being among them.

“What if this person is taking the Dragons to seek revenge on whoever hurt them. Remember it was because of the exposed blood that you were able to sense their presence.” The second Necromancer in the room speculated. His speculation was not without reason, as they, in truth, only sensed the presence of this mysterious person because the person was hurt in the first place. They were not the ones who harmed this person, and since this person was able to escape from their radar even when they employed all their resources to find them, it meant that whoever they were, they were quite powerful.

The man dressed in black thought about his companion’s speculations and could not help but nod in agreement, seeing reason with what he was saying. There was no reason for this mystery person to come after them when they have never crossed paths before.

The Gnome thought about it and it did make sense, but not wanting to take any chances, he urged, “According to the reports there are five Peak Rank Eight Dragons with them, correct?”

The second Necromancer nodded, he had gone out to get more information from the other scouts, and to his surprise, they found out that the Dragons sent out five Peak Rank Eight Dragons, a party strong enough to shake the world. If these were five Peak human Sovereigns, they would not be too worried. But Magical Beasts of the same cultivation realm were more difficult to deal with, much less Dragons, one of the mythical Beasts. A Peak Rank Eight Dragon will in most cases defeat their human counterpart, the same goes for Gnomes. A Peak Rank Eight Dragon is not something a Peak Sovereign Gnome wanted to face, especially alone.

Sadly for the Gnome and the Necromancers, according to the current division of things, they would each most likely have to deal with one Peak Rank Eight Dragons each, leaving one free one. That single free Peak Rank Eight Dragon is enough to kill most of the Necromancers present. The probability of it being able to single-handedly wipeout a thousand large army of Necromancers who are all in the Early stages of the Sovereign Plane is well over seventy percent, much less having to deal with fewer Sovereigns. As long as the free Dragon was given enough time, it would be able to easily wipe out the weaker Necromancers while the four were busy. Not just that, but there’s also the possibility of it joining the four against them, putting the Necromancers and Gnome at a disadvantage.

Seeing the second Necromancer nod, the Gnome hardened his expression and said, “Prepare the formation, and that thing too.”

The faces of the duo changed slightly when they heard him say this, knowing that they might have to fight for their lives here. Although it’s uncertain if the Dragons were coming for them, they had no choice but to be prepared for that possibility, after all, they were currently the enemies of the entire world.

They prepared for the Dragons’ arrival while praying that they were not the target of the Dragons.

….

While the Necromancers were worried about the Dragons’ destination, Grey was happily leading the Dragons there. Since his first encounter with Necromancers, he hated them and their art of using humans as Puppets. Learning they were only the underlings of another Race made him look down on them even more. It was one thing to seek strength through malicious methods, but having to lower their heads to another Race and willingly helping them to take out their own Race proved that Necromancers were the ultimate scums of humanity and as such needed to be treated like the trash they were.

A few minutes later, Grey and the Dragons were about two to three kilometers away from Necromancer’s hideout.

“Do we need a plan?” Grey inquired. He did not know if the Dragons liked having a plan before going into battle.

Of the seven Dragons with him, a Silver Dragon said in a condescending voice, “Try not to die or get in our way.”

Grey knew there were two females in the group of seven sent with him, and this Silver Dragon is one of them, a Peak Rank Eight powerhouse. Although she did not sound as displeased as the other Dragons, it was still clear to notice it looked down on Grey’s strength. Magical Beasts are believers of strength, and from its position, it did not think Grey should be accompanying them. This Dragon was not the only one, the other six felt the same way too, and if not for Sir Astarot’s order, they would have left Grey behind.

Scratching his head awkwardly, he smiled and said, “You don’t have to worry about me. I’ll make sure not to get in your way.”

He had been getting stares like these for years now, as long as he knew the Dragons would not attack him, he was fine with however way they looked at him.
