Chapter 1858: Making Things Hard

Following the procedure Idris explained to them, all the Forces present started to work on how to retrieve the item. The presence of Helena and her Faction made them tell the others how to obtain the treasure which in turn gave them the ability to fight for the treasure. Of course, knowing how to acquire the treasure and actually acquiring it are two different things, so the Twilight Faction being the ones with more knowledge about the treasure still had the advantage.

The reason the others were not afraid the Twilight Faction is plotting anything was the fact that not the top experts fight for treasures in cases like these. So if even Young Master Idris was playing with them, only those below the Sovereign Plane would die, and those in the Sovereign Plane would surely not let the matter rest. Any harm done to these people through Idris’ scheme will only serve to make both he and the Twilight Faction public enemy number one. Although the Twilight Faction is the number one Force in the world, there is no way it will be able to fight against the entire world, after all, the number of Sovereigns in all the Forces combined is enough to overwhelm even five Twilight Factions, much less one.

Grey stayed in his hiding place, watching everything happening before him. He was quite curious about the Magical and decided to ask Cormac about it when he returned to him after taking what he needed. As he watched the groups slowly advance, he noticed how quickly the group from the Twilight Faction stepped into the scorching building. They were far more prepared compared to the other Forces present, so they were the first to step in.

The other Forces followed suit, but they were not as fast as those from the Twilight Faction. At this rate, it was clear to see that it was only a matter of time before the Twilight Faction members got to the treasure.

Seeing this, Grey had no intentions of letting the Twilight Faction have anything. Even though he did not plan to kill these Venerables, he could still slow down their movements. Just the other Forces, he listened intently on how to retrieve the treasure, given his current strength and abilities, he could somewhat tamper with it, but not in a way where anyone from the Twilight Faction would die. He had no qualms killing those Late stage Sovereigns and even some Mid stage Sovereigns, but for anyone in the Early stages of the Sovereign Plane and below, he did not really want to kill them unless absolutely necessary.

Acting with these Ninth stage Sovereigns present will be a bit difficult though. Before he met the Eighth stage Sovereign who could disrupt his space element, and Cormac who could sense him even though he was only a Sixth stage Sovereign, he could sense Grey’s presence when most Ninth stage Sovereigns could not. Grey was even confident he could evade the senses of some Peak Sovereigns at the time. Cormac was like a reality check for him that helped understand that he was not invincible here even with his space element.

Just like Void, Grey’s concealment technique also made use of the space element, yet he was not undetectable like Void.

‘Do you have a way to stop them from getting it?’ With no other choice, he went to Void for help. Other than the Bunny Leader, Void has the best concealment technique.

Void appeared on Grey’s shoulder before lazily looking ahead, he turned to Grey and said, “Are you sure you don’t want that thing? Although it’s not top notch, it can still improve your strength. You know we have to leave this place soon and we need all the improvement we can get.”

Grey looked at Void, not expecting him to say something like this, a second later he shook his head with a shrug, “There’s no need for me to steal an opportunity to belong to someone of this world. Besides, I don’t even know if this thing will have any good effect on me.”

Void nodded, if not for the fact that this treasure was a bit unique, he would not have even suggested for Grey to take it since it could barely improve his strength. Nevertheless, there was a part of him that felt since this was a unique treasure, it might be able to help Grey in one way or the other.

“I should be able to slow them down. But there’s a chance some of them might get injured.” He said after some thoughts.

“Fatal?”

“I’m not sure yet.”

Grey kept silent after hearing Void’s reply. After some thoughts he nodded, “Just make sure none of them dies.”

After saying this, he also told Void of how he planned to slow them down too. Void’s initial reply was based on his own methods, so Grey felt sharing his method will be able to help Void maximize the chances of him causing any of them any injuries.

After listening to Grey’s plan, Void felt more confident that none of them would be fatally injured, but he did not dismiss the possibility of unforeseen incidents.

Grey naturally felt more comfortable knowing Void was more confident no one will be seriously injured or dead.

Void disappeared from Grey’s shoulder, heading straight for the building. He already knew about the situation inside and how to get in from the conversation between Idris and the others, so he had no issues with sneaking in. A Sovereign will be able to easily take this treasure if they wanted to. If not for the other Forces present, the Twilight Faction would have left this place as soon as the treasure came to being.

It did not take long for Void to enter the building. As at the time he entered the building, those from the Twilight Faction were only about eight meters away from where the treasure was placed, while the others were still about twenty meters away. The closest Force to the Twilight Faction was about fifteen meters away.

Outside the building, the Forces outside could all see the situation inside. The people present all had mixed reactions, only those from the Twilight Faction had smiled on their faces.

Helena looked at Idris, saying through gritted teeth, “Young Master Idris surely came prepared.”

At first she thought once they knew how to obtain the treasure then they would be able to still fight for it. However, Young Master Idris clearly hid some information from them, which was why those from the Twilight Faction had the advantage.

“Of course! Did you forget when I said someone from my Faction is the one who found it?” Young Master Idris replied with a smile, taking pleasure in Helena’s anger.

Helena could not help but feel a little annoyed that the Twilight Faction were the one who got this opportunity and not them. If they could get this treasure, then there is a chance they might just be able to have enough manpower to go shoulder to shoulder with the Twilight Faction. Snorting coldly, she turned her focus back to those in the building. Just as she looked at the building, she noticed something strange.

She was not the only one who noticed this abnormality, every other Force Sovereign present did too.

“Huh? What’s happening with them?” Young Master Idris asked with some shock. Although the closer they got to the treasure the slower they became, they should not be held in place for too long, especially with all their preparations.

The Ninth stage Sovereigns from the Twilight Faction were all in a state of surprise, not sure why the Venerables stopped either. These people were picked for this particular task, and they have trained for it for some time, yet they were not able to make a move while being only three meters away from the treasure.

“Maybe this thing is stronger than we thought.” One of the Ninth stage Sovereigns present replied after some speculations.

Young Master Idris felt this might also be the case since things like these were always unpredictable. He could not help but feel irritated by the conditions needed for this treasure, and that the corpse of the Magical Beast must not be moved from this place. Not wanting to draw attention to it due to this place not being their territory, they did not dare to station too many people here. Who would have thought that after hiding this for so long, the treasure still managed to attract people here. What made it worse was that they all came almost at the same time, which made it impossible to kill off witnesses.

A minute went by and the gap between the Twilight Faction members and the closest Force had dropped to only two meters. The members of the Twilight Faction only moved about a meter in this time, yet the others moved way more than that.

“Impossible!” Young Master Idris exclaimed a few seconds later:
