Chapter 1786 Fools Don't Need Apologies

1786  Fools Don't Need Apologies

After asking this question, Sir Xavier's eyes darted around and finally landed at the place where Grey was seated. 'Could this be his doing?' At the thought of this, his facial expression turned even more sour. If Grey could achieve something like this, then he's definitely not an easy figure. However, his gaze turned firm as the faint fear that was slowly creeping into his heart. So what if Grey was tricky? This was Raging Flame City, and no one other than the top experts from Raging Flame Faction could act however they wanted here. He knew all the geniuses from the Faction and knew that Grey wasn't one of them. With this thought in mind, he readjusted his mindset and even started to once again exude a majestic aura. "Since our guest doesn't want you to leave, then accompany me to see him." He didn't try to get the Black Protector to leave again. Since he couldn't leave the last time, there's no way he could leave now. Inside the building. Grey was still seated in the Hall where he was drinking his tea. He didn't even raise his head as the group of Sir Xavier entered the Hall. He kept using the spoon to stir the tea as he watched it with interest. Sir Xavier didn't expect that Grey would react like they didn't even exist. At first he didn't want to speak after entering and only walked in, taking a seat as he kept his eyes on Grey, with the Blue and Black Protectors standing on either side of him. However, a minute went by without Grey giving them a glance, much less utter a word to them. He was seemingly entranced by the tea he was staring at and didn't bother with the appearance of the group of three. He would occasionally stir the tea, before taking occasional sips. Veins started to appear on the head of Sir Xavier, but he calmed himself and decided to initiate the conversation. "I wonder where Your Excellency is from?" He looked at Grey with a forced smile. Although he didn't like Grey's act of ignoring him, he didn't want to fight without at least knowing his background. Since Grey is stronger than the two Protectors, and after seeing the method he used to stop the Black Protector from leaving, he felt a bit apprehensive. The McCall Family could be dealt with later, if Grey's background is something that even his father the City Lord couldn't offend, then he would be in serious trouble. With all these things in mind, he opted for the safer route. Besides, as long as Grey was from a top force, he will surely announce it to show his strong background. Grey, however, took a glance at Sir Xavier and replied, "I'm just from a small city, no one important."

The eyes of Sir Xavier twitched when he heard this. He didn't think that Grey would choose to hide his background. Unknown to him, Grey wasn't lying. In truth, he was from a small city, Red City. Although the Dawson Family can't be said to have originated from Red City, Grey was born there, and he spent his entire childhood, as well as most of his early years there before ultimately leaving for Lunar Academy. So in terms of feeling a sense of belonging, Grey held more sentimental values towards Red City over the City the Dawson Family Manor was located. Before Grey could open his mouth, Sir Xavier added with a chuckle, "Don't worry, since you've already taken the step to mediate, I'll naturally give you some face as a sign of creating friendship. We won't kill them all, the kid from the family only has to become Mark's servant for the rest of his life." 12:39

"I wonder why you involved yourself in matters concerning the dignity of the City Lord's Manor. I believe you have some ideas on how a large group can be controlled." Sir Xavier didn't elaborate, but he didn't think he needed that, he looked at Grey and continued, "If that Family walks free, it'll put a blemish on the City Lord's Manor's prestige. Since you have no connections with them, I'll handle them."

Before Grey could open his mouth, Sir Xavier added with a chuckle, "Don't worry, since you've already taken the step to mediate, I'll naturally give you some face as a sign of creating friendship. We won't kill them all, the kid from the family only has to become Mark's servant for the rest of his life." Sir Xavier believed that this was a God sent deal. His thought process was simple, he didn't want to be over aggressive, so he acted in a manner he believed would please both parties. Since Grey isn't acquainted with the McCall Family, this was even a great sign of respect from the City Lord Manor. Grey looked at Sir Xavier with a surprised look, not expecting him to say such words. However, his eyes turned into a slit as a meaningful light flashed through them. He suddenly understood that Sir Xavier was a cunning individual. Saying he would take the kid from the McCall Family into the City Lord Manor to work for his son seemed like an opportunity, but in truth, it was a means to let Mark do whatever he wanted to the young man from the McCall Family. Normally, Grey wouldn't be bothered with how others are going to be treated, but the McCall Family is a bit special to him for now and he couldn't afford to allow any harm to fall on them. "Who said I have no connections with them?" He asked with a chuckle. "You're from that little family?" Sir Xavier asked. "When did I say that?" "But you just said…"

"Having a connection with them doesn't mean I'm from their family. Don't tell me I have to explain this to you?" The eyes Grey used to look at Sir Xavier when he asked this question was that of when one was looking at a complete idiot. Even the Blue and Black Protectors had a change of expression when they heard Grey's question and saw his look. Sir Xavier snorted coldly and said, "Since you have some connections with them, then they'll have to publicly apologize to my son." "Fools don't need apologies."
