Affinity: Chaos

Chapter 1653: I Missheard

The Dragon landed on the ground, causing the area to tremble slightly. The three Birds were all under Grey's control at the moment. As much as he wanted to leave them so they could be natural, he didn't want to take the risk of them giving him away to the Dragon. A smaller silver Dragon landed on the side of the larger one. The larger Dragon had a darker color, brown to be precise. Its size and features made it look intimidating. From what Grey recalled from Melmera's memories, the name of the son of the Tribe Leader is Sirevius, seeing the duo present there, he didn't need anyone to tell who was who. Sirevius is the larger Dragon, while the smaller one was his guard. The fact that the smaller Dragon is actually stronger is quite deceiving. Grey was currently hiding, he tried to sense the cultivation stage of the smaller Dragon, but to his surprise, he couldn't sense it from the body of the Birds. 'Why's that?' Grey wondered why he was unable to sense the guard's cultivation stage.

'Can either of you sense their cultivation stages?' He turned to Void and the bunny leader. 'Early stage and early Late stage.' The bunny leader replied immediately, Void didn't bother since he too already knew it, but since the bunny leader wanted to be the first to answer, why worry. This was within Grey's expectations. According to the bunny leader, the guard should be someone equivalent to a Seventh stage Sovereign. Given his current cultivation stage, against a Seventh stage Sovereign, he was quite confident in his abilities, but this wasn't a normal Seventh stage Sovereign, rather, it was a Dragon. A legendary Magical Beast that's regarded as one of the leaders of the Magical Beasts' world. Most Dragons are geniuses, they cultivate faster and are generally stronger than their human counterparts in the same cultivation stage. The chances of this Dragon being able to go toe to toe with a human Eighth stage Sovereign is very high. 'This is going to be harder than I thought.' Grey had to reassess the situation. If he dared to fight the Dragon here, he would alert the other Magical Beasts around this place, meaning he will be in some sort of danger since the others will rush here. The first time he didn't enter the Inner Court area, so at least the top Magical Beasts didn't call for his head, but now that he has entered the Inner Court, if he dares to try anything, he might not be able to escape unscathed. 'Should I leave this guy and come back later when I'm strong enough?' Grey thought about this properly. He already has so many enemies, adding the Magical Beasts to it isn't something he wants to do. 'Can you guys kill him without any problems?' He looked at Void and the bunny leader. 'That guy has some sort of affinity with the space element. He is sensitive to it. It'll be difficult to deal with him.' Void replied after some moments of silence. 'How about you guys draw him away and I kill the Dragon and leave?' 'I don't think he'll leave his side.' The bunny leader knew how the hierarchy works in the Magical Beasts' world. If the Tribe Leader's son is killed under the guard's watch, there's no point in him even trying to return to the tribe, he should just end his own life else he'll face a fate worse than death. This guard will rather die than let anything happen to the Tribe Leader's son. The trio has been conversing telepathically which is very fast, their entire conversation has taken only about ten seconds or so. On the other side. The guard looked at the three Birds and yelled, "Such impudence!!"

His aura spiked and the pressure on the body of the trio forced them to the ground, pushing their heads against the ground.

"In the presence of the Young Lord, your heads should never be raised in such a manner." The guard was about to take a step forward when one of the Birds spoke up.

"We're sorry Your Highness, a lot has been happening over the past few days, we forgot. We're sorry, please have mercy on us." The Bird who was the leader of the group from Grey's perspective was the one who spoke up. Sirevius stopped the guard from doing anything, "There's no need for that. You know how valuable these guys are to me. With their help, I can take complete control of the Bird tribe."

"But Young Lord…"

"They've apologized, there's no point in punishing them." Sirevius's tone was calm, he looked at the trio and asked, "What has been happening, why are you worried?"

"Thank you for your mercy, Your Highness." The leader of the trio continued, he slightly raised his head, still under the pressure of the guard and said, "He's back. That person taking revenge is back." Sirevius and the guard looked at the Bird a little confused.

"What are you talking about?" Sirevius asked, curious. The guard stopped using his aura to pressure the trio.

"The one who writes the traitor words on them. He's back, I can feel it." The leader of the trio said in agitation, he looked around and said, "I've been feeling a sense of danger over the past few days. I've tried to shake the feeling away, but then they too felt it. We have very few enemies capable of making us feel fear, and that person, whoever he is, is one of them."

"Mel is dead, that I know for sure. If a human is helping her out, he won't dare to step into the Inner Court. If he was strong enough, he would've come a long time ago. Why do you think he retreated?" Sirevius asked with a smirk, "These humans are stupid and can't fight against us. If they dare to sneak into the Inner Court, they'll be killed."

"But… I heard a human came to cause a disturbance some years ago." The Bird said, the temperature suddenly dropped and they could see their breaths, "I'm sorry Your Highness, I clearly misheard."
