Affinity: Chaos

Chapter 1537 Gruelling Battle

Grey and Klaus blended into the city with ease. Klaus was able to gather some information for the duo. Compared to Grey, he is a better communicator. In no time, he made friends with some people that gave him the information he needed.

"A treasure is about to be born close to the city?" Grey didn't expect such information.

"Well, if what they said is right, then yes. A treasure that has been growing for hundreds of years. From what I know, Peak Venerables and Early stage Sovereigns are flocking the area right now for it." Klaus reaffirmed.

"Hehe, such luck." Grey commented.

Since he was here, there was no way he was going to let such an opportunity slide. A treasure that has been growing for hundreds of years, no matter what his current cultivation stage is, he is going to go for it. Since Mid stage or Late stage Sovereigns wouldn't be around, then he was confident in being able to take in and escape without anyone being able to stop him.

"We're going?" Klaus asked.

"Of course, if we don't go, who will?" Grey grinned.

"Nice." Klaus gave Grey a thumbs up. He also wanted to see what this treasure was. He didn't get any information about the treasure, so he didn't know what it was.

The only way to know what it is, is if they took it.

"It will be ready in a few days, should we hang around the City or go there straight?" Klaus asked.

"There's no point staying here. Let's go there and see the competition." Grey replied.

Klaus had no issues with Grey's plans, he led him to the region where the treasure was about to be born. These natural treasures were all remarkable. They never have any side effects which places them above everything else.

….

The duo headed to the mountains behind the City.

As soon as they got into the mountain range, Grey sensed the treasure. With his space element, he didn't need Klaus to lead the way any further, as he took charge and brought Klaus to the place.

He didn't appear directly at the place the treasure was located, but a kilometer away.

When they appeared, a lot of experts in the Early stages of the Sovereign Plane were already present.

The duo were inconspicuous, as they hid by the side, avoiding the eyes. of those present.

The days went by, and after eight days, the phenomenon started with the treasure.

It was a treasure born from a rock.

The rock glowed silver as cracks started to appear on it.

It drew the attention of everyone present in the area, as they all watched it seriously. They could tell it would take hours before the process is completed.

Grey felt it would take over a day or so before it fully forms, so he wasn't in a haste.

Klaus didn't have any special feelings from it, so he didn't think too much about it. It might be a good treasure, but since it isn't something that aroused his senses, then it wasn't something he felt was important to him. Grey is the only reason he was here. Once Grey takes the item, they would naturally leave this place.

They waited and just as Grey guessed, it took two whole days before the cracks spread across the entire rock which wasn't even half a meter tall, or wide. It was a strange concept. But staying around the treasure these two days has been beneficial. Due to the birth of the treasure, the essence in this area was thicker than it is in other parts of the Continent, with the exception of some places.

Grey and Klaus have focused on training the time they've been there.

Grey opened his eyes as the rock was on the verge of opening.

Klaus did the same, he could also sense that the treasure was about to come out.

"What's the plan?" He turned to Grey.

"Take it, and leave this place." Grey replied.

"Alright. I'll be waiting for you." Klaus replied.

He didn't have the space element, so he didn't have any plans in involving himself in this scuffle. The number of people present were too much, so they didn't need to be engaged in any form of battle. With the number of Sovereigns present, no matter how strong they were unless they were in the Late stages, there's nothing they could do to these people.

The cracks on the rock grew larger, and the lights grew brighter.

Those in the Third stage of the Sovereign Plane were the ones in front of others. They had the strength and naturally took the best positions.

Grey took a glance at the person who was closer to the rock and smiled. This person was also in the Third stage, but from the looks of it, he was close to the Fourth stage of the Sovereign Plane, so he took a few steps forward, compared to others.

To be honest, they all knew that being close to it didn't guarantee getting the item. As a matter of fact, someone in the Venerable Plane could even obtain it since most of the people present would begin fighting once the item was free.

Grey didn't want to engage in these battles since he felt it was meaningless. Once they've started fighting, he would swoop in and take the treasure, leaving as well.

The entire place was quiet, and only the cracking sound from the rock resonated across the place. A few minutes later, the sound of the rock separating sounded.

The second both sides of the rock hit the ground, all Third stage Sovereigns took a step forward.

Boom!

The battle started immediately.

Everyone present was attacking. Even the Venerables didn't want to be left behind. Treasures like these always have a way of attracting people over, and some Venerables, especially those that have been stuck in that realm for hundreds of years, don't hold back whenever fighting for them. If they don't put their lives on the line while fighting for these, they'll eventually die of old age.
