BANG!
Lazarus slammed his fist onto the seabed, sending rocks and sand erupting in all directions, covering his vision. He didn’t mind and continued to smash onto the seabed, activating [Mana Sense] at the same time in order to see if he could see anything.
However, even with [Mana Sense] activated, he couldn’t detect anything.
‘I guess I’ll just go blindly.’
The only thing he had to confirm the presence of the eye was the mirror in front of him as he continued to smash onto the seabed, a red orb forming in his mind as his muscles squirmed and his strength increased drastically.
BANG!
The surroundings shook with each one of his attacks, but even that was nothing compared to the rumbling that was occurring outside.
Lazarus was in a constant state of alert.
He could feel that his actions were starting to attract unwanted attention. If not for the fact that two massive figures were fighting outside, he was afraid that he’d already be surrounded on all sides.
‘…In a way, their fight ended up benefiting me.’
Lazarus clenched his teeth while smashing down again, a massive crater forming down as he whipped out the mirror to check the situation.
‘It’s bigger.’
The circle within the mirror was bigger than before, and this was all Lazarus needed to know.
He wasn’t acting in vain.
BANG! BANG—
With both feet planted onto the seabed, with [Step of Suppression] activated, he smashed down with all his might. The crater beneath him expanded, and from time to time, he’d stop to check the mirror and see the dot growing larger.
‘Almost, almost…!’
After a certain point, he no longer bothered using the mirror.
That was because he could feel the presence of something underneath him. Though subtle, it was enough to make his blood boil, and he understood then that he was close to finding the eye.
His heart sped up, and so did his movements as he smashed with more force and pace.
BANG!
With his fist colliding onto the seabed once more, Lazarus felt the top of his fist hit something cold, and when he looked down, his already rapidly beating heart sped up.
‘——!’
There, embedded deeply onto the seafloor, was a scepter crowned with a single black eye that pulsed faintly under the darkness of the water, its glassy surface seemingly untouched by the passing of time as Lazarus felt his body freeze.
‘…The eye!’
Lazarus had a hard time describing the feeling the eye gave him, but the moment he caught sight of it, the world around him turned colder, and he started to feel his previously fast-beating heart slow down.
No, not just his heart.
His movements, too!
‘What the?!’
Looking around, Lazarus realized that he wasn’t the only one who had slowed down. In fact, almost everything around him had slowed down. From the falling of the sand around him, to the flow of the water.
Time seemed to slow down for everything.
And then—
Swoosh!
A figure slowly emerged in the distance, his appearance revealing that of Sylas as his gaze fell on the eye that was embedded deep into the seafloor.
“What’s this…?”
He paused, staring at the eye below.
Then…
Slowly turning his attention towards Lazarus, Sylas smiled.
“Looks like you’ve found something interesting.”

RUMBLE—!
Appearing before Xa’hurl, Delilah swiped her hand once, trying her best to strip away at the mist that was covering the massive creature, but just as she moved, the creature attacked, and Delilah was forced to defend as a black film formed around her, absorbing the invisible attacks that she couldn’t see.
Absorbing all of the attacks, Delilah was forced back, her deep black eyes growing an even deeper shade of black as her momentum rose.
The same was true for Xa’hurl as its frame grew.
The surroundings shook at the might of the two figures. Even those within the Remnant South weren’t left unscathed, with massive waves forming and crashing onto the city, destroying the port and several buildings.
Everything within the vicinity was affected by the two of them.
Even the cadets that she had left behind were having a hard time. If not for the fact that she had sent them far enough for them not to feel the full brunt of their aftermath, they would’ve probably been in deep trouble.
It was just unfortunate that she couldn’t think too much about them.
As of right now, she only had one goal.
Remove the mist that was surrounding the large beast.
While its true appearance did indeed shatter the minds of those who stared at it, it also signified its weakness. Only by striking at its exposed self could Delilah truly hurt it and have a chance at victory.
But that was easier said than done.
The beast was well aware of her intentions, and it did everything possible to prevent her from coming closer to him.
Not only that, but its attacks were incredibly fast, making it extremely hard for Delilah to get near it.
Even now, she was struggling to read its attacks.
BANG!
They came from out of nowhere and were incredibly fast.
Delilah was struggling to get a proper read on their pattern and direction. She was still able to defend against them, but she could feel herself slowly start to lose momentum.
Swiping her hand and defending against another attack, Delilah pressed her foot against the ground, a ripple forming underneath. A wave of pressurized wind burst out from the central point of her heel, and a powerful burst of energy shot toward Xa’hurl.
The monster reacted instantly, blocking the attack, but it was also in that moment that a gigantic wyvern appeared right above it.
“Hieeerk—!”
With a loud shriek, the wyvern dove down onto Xa’hurl as Delilah brought her hands together and used the new skill she had acquired thanks to the bone of the Destroyer-Ranked beast.
A sharp whistling sound pierced the air the instant she activated the skill, and the wyvern burst into a bright light, blazing like a second sun and flooding the world below with its brilliance.
Everything happened incredibly quickly.
In the span of a single blink, a deafening explosion erupted, the blinding light slamming into the beast. It let out a horrific wail and thrashed violently, sending massive waves surging across the water.
Delilah understood that her attack hadn’t caused significant damage to the monster.
It had merely blinded it for a short moment, but this was enough for her.
With a single tap of her foot against the air, the black film around her burst outward, expanding in a blink until it drowned the world in darkness.
As if her mere motion had snatched the sun from the sky, she pulled Xa’hurl into the shrouded void with her. This time, completely.
Now, Xa’hurl stood within her domain.
And… within her domain, she alone ruled.
Ripples stirred around her, but Delilah didn’t hesitate; she swept her hand toward them sharply, intercepting whatever force was trying to reach her.
She was fluid with her actions, and the attacks were easily dealt with, fading into the darkness that surrounded the world.
“…..”
A terrifying silence followed as Delilah fixed her gaze on the distant beast.
Things… were different now.
Now that the beast was trapped within her domain, she could feel control settle over everything around her. Her dark hair swayed gently in the shadowed void, and her pupils began to swirl.
Pressing her hand forward, several large black hands appeared beneath the gigantic creature, rising up towards it and gripping onto the mist that was enshrouding it.
“Hieeek!”
Xa’hurl wailed, retaliating in its own way, but Delilah was one step ahead.
Appearing right before the monster, she clapped her hands once.
Clap!
It was as if lightning had struck.
A thunderous crack split the air, and Xa’hurl froze, only for a heartbeat, but it was enough. From below, the hands gripped the mist with sudden force, slowly dragging it downward, peeling the layers away, and tearing the creature’s form free from its protective layers, exposing its true form to the world.
Delilah closed her eyes the moment its true appearance started to appear before her.
Within her domain, she didn’t need to see.
She could feel it all.
Nothing could stop her now. Her hand lifted slowly, deliberately, as countless others emerged from the darkness around her, clawing, reaching from every direction toward the monster, tearing the mist away from its body until its true figure appeared for the world to see.
Too bad…
The outside world was sealed.
But at the same time, Delilah managed to strip Xa’hurl of its protective layer; she felt the pressure coming out of the monster’s body start to expand, and her face turned grim.
She understood all too well that this was merely the start.
The moment she stripped the mist away from the creature, she also released its true form.
Feeling the pressure coming from the gigantic monster, Delilah showed no emotion. She couldn’t show any emotion. She had already calculated this beforehand.
She just stood suspended in the void.
Waiting.
Waiting for the beast to accumulate its momentum as though she wanted to challenge it at its best.
Sensing what was happening, Xa’hurl erupted in fury. It felt Delilah’s intent, and the pressure radiating from its body surged violently, expanding outward in a wave that almost caused the entire domain to collapse.
Delilah’s face paled at the sudden pressure, but she resisted.
She continued to wait.
The beast’s rage deepened, boiling over as its massive form lunged forward, hurling itself at Delilah with the force of an unstoppable tsunami.
Even Delilah felt extremely apprehensive at the sudden attack.
But even then…
She didn’t move.
She was waiting.
Waiting for something.
“Hieeek!”
The beast moved dangerously close, its dozens of eyes glaring and tentacles writhing in every direction, trapping Delilah with no clear path to escape.
She was trapped!
…Or at least, that was what the beast thought.
Suddenly opening her eyes again, Delilah’s eyes were now completely black. So black that it almost felt as though they sucked the very light from the world. The world froze. Everything froze.
Everything but Delilah as she stepped forward until she stood before Xa’hurl, gently resting her hand on the beast’s massive body.
Her deep black eyes continued to swirl as her palm pressed against its flesh.
And then—
BANG!
Black blood spilled across her hand as the colossal beast was violently thrown back, a deafening explosion tearing through the air. Its massive form crashed into the water, sending towering waves rippling across the area.
The dark domain shattered moments later, and the familiar white sun returned to the sky.
By the time everything settled down, Delilah was the only one standing in the air.
She…
Stood supreme.
But not for long. Her previously indifferent face slowly changed, turning completely pale as her thin lips suddenly quivered. Before she could fully grasp what was happening, her eyes drifted down to the black blood staining her hand, and dread settled over her face as she watched the dark liquid seep into her skin.
At first, she thought that the beast’s body contained some sort of poison, but the moment she tried to connect with it, something within her pulsed.
It was subtle at first, and she almost missed it.
But then..
She felt the pulse come again. This time, stronger than before, and her blood started to boil.
Literally boil.
‘What’s going on?’
Before Delilah could even realize what was happening, she heard a gigantic roar coming from the distance, and when she turned her head, she saw Xa’hurl slowly rise up from the water, its eyes locked onto her direction.
Delilah tried to react, but she found herself unable to move at all.
Her blood continued to stir, forcing her in place. She didn’t understand what was going on, and her usually calm expression started to fade.
It was then that it happened.
BANG!
A terrifying force hit her directly on her left side, and she was flung into the water.
