Chapter 1612: Li Lingjing's Information

In the room, Li Luo stared at the newcomer in complete surprise, clearly not expecting to see Li Lingjing. It had been three years since they parted ways in the World’s End River Region. He hadn't thought that their reunion would take place here, in the old manor in the City of Southwind. This situation felt completely outlandish to him.

Furthermore, Li Lingjing had undergone yet another transformation. Black snake scales covered most of her skin, giving her a devilish appearance. Her eyes looked detached and merciless, like those of a venomous snake.

Her resonant power undulations carried a gloomy, ominous aura. It was as though she were essentially an Other.

Li Lingjing's dark eyes met Li Luo's shocked expression. Her eyelids lowered slightly, and a flicker of emotion arose from the depths of her heart. She couldn't help but step back, wishing to shrink into the shadows and vanish. However, Li Luo moved forward, reaching out to grab hold of her scaly wrist. It was cold to the touch, and he could sense the energy of corruption surging from her, attempting to contaminate him. Still, he disregarded the corrosive effect and looked at her beautiful but chilly face.

"Cousin Lingjing, have you been well?" he asked tenderly.

Li Lingjing locked eyes with him. It was clear that he was deeply concerned for her, causing her to relax slightly. She gave a small nod and said, "I'm fine."

She then broke free from Li Luo's grasp and placed her palms together, absorbing all of the ominous energy around them.

"You shouldn't touch me. You'll be corrupted," Li Lingjing coolly explained.

"If that’s what it takes to help you return to your former self, I'm more than willing to try. I'm quite resistant to corruption after all. Cousin Lingjing, are you sure you don't wish to try changing your fate? I'll help you find a solution."

She fell silent, then she shook her head. "Li Luo, this is the road I've chosen. Although it's dark and filled with pain, I don't regret it. Not everyone is suited to walk the path of light."

The last few words were basically murmured. The image of the elegant, sword-wielding lady of Western City had long disappeared from the depths of her mind. Li Luo sighed in his heart. Li Lingjing was the type of person who firmly stood by her decisions, and no one could change her mind.

Looking at the two ladies, he said, "Since we're all family, let's lower our weapons."

The atmosphere was tense when weapons were drawn. They were wary of each other, and not purely because of their relationship with Li Luo, but also due to the fact that light and dark couldn't co-exist. If he had not mediated the conflict, the two might have already engaged in a battle of life and death.

The coldness in Jiang Qing'e's eyes gradually receded. She knew of the strong bond between Li Luo and Li Lingjing, and how she had assisted him in overcoming many trials in the past.

"I'm sorry. My light resonant power simply reacts instinctively to corruption," Jiang Qing'e calmly said as she put the Holy Phoenix Parasol down.

Li Lingjing nodded. "I've been here for a while. Seeing that the two of you were getting along so well, I decided not to disturb you. I was planning to appear later, but your senses were sharper than I expected."

Those words caused Jiang Qing'e to tighten her grip around the Holy Phoenix Parasol. A trace of embarrassment arose in her heart. There was clearly something off about this woman! Was she intending to lurk in the shadows until they were done? Was she some sort of voyeur? If that really happened, she would indeed have to kill the witness to silence them permanently. However, none of the embarrassment showed on Jiang Qing'e's face.

"In the future, I'd advise you to mind your own business when you hear things that don’t concern you," Jiang Qing'e retorted.

This time, Li Lingjing's grip tightened around the Aquamarine Bamboo Python Staff. "I've already seen everything there was to see in the World's End River Region. However, you’re not wrong. There wasn’t much to see anyway—just two bodies controlled by lust, engaged in activities to stifle their boredom."

Li Luo was feeling pretty awkward at this point. Cousin Lingjing's words were indeed savage, and she had spoken so casually. It looked like most of her human emotions had faded away. He hurriedly stepped in before things escalated.

"Sister Qing'e and I are fusing our minds, bodies, and souls. We aren't just letting our lust get the better of us. Anyway, let's not talk about this any further. Did you get to see Aunt Yun yet?"

He was desperate to change the topic as he knew that if things continued, Jiang Qing'e would likely explode in fury. Li Lingjing would happily wash her hands of this problem, leaving him to bear the brunt of any humiliation Jiang Qing'e felt.

Jiang Qing'e took a deep breath and recomposed herself. She understood that Lingjing was simply a degenerate creature who had sunken into the pits of darkness. There wasn't any point in arguing with someone like her.

When Rouyun was brought up, Li Lingjing's cold demeanor shifted slightly. There were only two people in the world capable of stirring her emotions. One was her precious aunt, and the other was Li Luo.

"I've seen her a few times from the shadows. Convey my gratitude to that person, Ox Biaobiao. Although he is quite ugly, Aunt Yun seems very happy to be with him," Li Lingjing replied.

Li Luo was speechless. Uncle Biao might look a little rough with his rotund face, but he definitely wasn't ugly!

"Why don't you explain why you're here?" Jiang Qing'e finally asked the most important question. Surely Li Lingjing hand an important reason for being here.

"I have come to bring you news."

Li Lingjing turned to Li Luo. "Do you know of someone by the name of Shen Jinxiao?"

When this name was uttered, Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e's expressions darkened. Li Luo clenched his teeth. "We have enmity as deep as the sea with that dog. However, we killed him in the Celestial Mirror Pagoda."

Li Lingjing shook her head. "He didn't die. He was revived by the Emptiness Heavenly Emperor and received the Ultimate Devil Corruption Seed. His strength has taken a large leap forward, and he's returned to the Xia Kingdom."

Li Luo and Jiang Qing'e both frowned. He really was like a cockroach—he kept coming back no matter what they did. He had revived even after they killed him! Did the Emptiness Heavenly Emperor have nothing better to do?

"It's fine if he's back. I wasn't satisfied with killing him once, so I’ll make sure he experiences the pain of death one more time. I don't believe the Emptiness Heavenly Emperor will revive him yet again after that," Li Luo said coldly.

Jiang Qing'e asked, "Is the Origin Reversion Institution plotting something in the Xia Kingdom? They wouldn't have dispatched people like you and Shen Jinxiao otherwise. Are there any Kings in the group?"

The Xia Kingdom's Other Disaster was caused by the Origin Reversion Institute and the Saturnine Hydra Devil King. Now that both Shen Jinxiao and Li Lingjing had appeared, it seemed that the former's attention had been directed here yet again.

"The Kings of the Origin Reversion Institute have been largely restricted by the Academic Federation, so they can’t come here for now. That said, the Xia Kingdom seems to be very important to them, and there might be some major changes soon," Li Lingjing answered.

Li Luo frowned. "The Saturnine Hydra Devil King is a peak Triple Crowned King and has been working tirelessly to conquer the barren wasteland of the Xia Kingdom. The Origin Reversion Institute is also sending forces here. Just what is going on?"

Li Lingjing met his eyes. "You have probably already guessed. There is something in the Xia Kingdom that has attracted their attention. More accurately, we are looking for a certain individual."

"A person?" Li Luo furrowed his brow.

"This individual is said to be from the Sacred Void Resonance Sect. He is from the last generation of the Void Resonance's Six Sons. Not only does he possess a Genesis Seed, he is also known as the Pill Saint..."

When she saw the shock on Li Luo's face, she added an additional piece of information.

"The Sacred Void Resonance Sect's Myriad Resonances Golden Pill was refined by the Pill Saint of each generation."

That sentence made Li Luo’s body tremble, as though he had been struck by lightning. This information was of utmost importance to him.
