A Record of a Mortal's Journey to Immortality: Immortal Realm
Chapter 1208: Traveling TogetherThe gray-robed elderly man and the red-robed woman were two of the people that he had encountered in the Five Light Lightning Region, namely Sun Chongshan and Celestial Maiden Miao.
Back then, Sun Chongshan had left behind the woman and another man to flee for his life, so there should've been bad blood between them, making it rather curious that they were together again.
As for the white-robed nun, she was quite similar in appearance to Yu Menghan, the human woman that he had encountered back in the Spirit Domain Realm, and his gaze lingered on her for a little longer due to this sense of familiarity.
However, he was unable to confirm her identity as it had been far too long since their previous encounter.
The white-robed nun seemed to have noticed Han Li's gaze, and her brows furrowed slightly as she turned away.
Han Li immediately snapped out of his reverie as he asked, "What's a large room?"
"The rooms on the boat are split up into large, small, and medium classifications. A ticket for a large room costs three thousand Immortal Origin Stones, then two thousand for a medium, and one thousand for a small room. It'll be a little crowded for the five of us to stay in a large room, but it'll save us quite a bit of Immortal Origin Stones each. What do you say?" Sun Chongshan explained.
Han Li took a glance at the Sun Moon Alliance cultivator to see that he was displaying no intention of stopping the arrangement that Sun Chongshan was trying to make.
After a brief moment of contemplation, Han Li shook his head as he replied, "Thank you for the kind offer, but I prefer to stay alone."
A look of disappointment flashed through Sun Chongshan's eyes upon hearing this, but he didn't try to convince Han Li any further as he departed with the other three cultivators.Han Li took a glance at the four cultivators, then purchased a ticket for a small room from the Sun Moon Alliance cultivator.
With only one day left, he wasn't in the mood to go out exploring the city, so he sat down in the hall to meditate.
He had expended a great deal of energy during the battle against Chi Meng and the others, so this was a good opportunity for him to rest and recuperate.
While meditating, Han Li was simultaneously keeping tabs on the four cultivators, particularly the white-robed nun, who resembled Yu Menghan in both appearance and aura.
Could it really be her?
Back when Han Li left the Spirit Domain Realm, she hadn't even reached the Nascent Soul Tier yet, and her aptitude didn't appear to have been anything special, either, so how was it possible that she had reached the Golden Immortal Stage in such a short time?
Of course, Liu Le'er had made far more progress in the same span of time, having already progressed to the Great Encompassment Stage, but she possessed a true spirit bloodline and had the support of the entire Heavenly Fox Tribe, so that really wasn't a fair comparison.
The white-robed nun appeared to have only been a vagrant cultivator, having to save on a ticket that only cost one thousand Immortal Origin Stones, so there was no way that she was particularly wealthy. With all of that in mind, Han Li concluded that it had to have just been someone similar in appearance.
Sun Chongshan continued to chat with other cultivators, hoping to convince someone to purchase a joint ticket with them.
However, most of the people entering the hall had already purchased tickets, and only after approaching close to ten people did he finally find someone willing to share a room with them, namely a Golden Immortal Stage middle-aged man.
Judging from his ragged clothes and coarse skin, he was clearly a vagrant cultivator.
With five people gathered, the group found a place to sit and await the departure of the Sun Moon Flying Boat.
Close to a day flew by in the blink of an eye, and the time of departure finally arrived.
"Please come us, fellow daoists," the two Sun Moon Alliance cultivators instructed as they made their way deeper into the hall, and everyone followed along.
At the back of the hall was a door, beyond which was a corridor that led to a massive plaza.
There was a giant flying boat that was three thousand to four thousand feet tall and seven thousand to eight thousand feet in length resting on the plaza. The boat was ovular in shape, resembling an enormous egg, and it was bright blue in color with countless blue and white runes engraved upon it to form a series of arrays.
Han Li could see that all of the arrays on the boat were star arrays that weren't inferior to the ones that he had seen in the Scalptia Spatial Domain.
At the bottom of the flying boat was an entrance for passengers, and the boat itself had ten levels, that were segmented into rooms of different sizes, maximizing every inch of space.
Han Li quickly tracked down his room using his ticket, and the interior was very small, only around ten feet in size, with only a bed and a small table and chair inside.
He closed the door and sat down onto the bed, then began examining the surrounding area with his spiritual sense.
The walls of the room all had restrictions to separate them, but they may as well have been non-existent in the face of Han Li's spiritual sense.
To his surprise, Sun Chongshan's group of five just so happened to have been in the room right next to his.
Their room was far larger than Han Li's, but there was also a bed, a table, and a chair inside.
Despite its larger size, it was naturally rather cramped with five people staying in it at once.
"It's a little cramped, but we'll just have to make do," Sun Chongshan said.
Both the white-robed nun and Celestial Maiden Miao's brows furrowed slightly at the sight of the cramped space.
"Let's leave the bed to Celestial Maiden Yu and Celestial Maiden Miao. The three of us can just sit on the floor," the black-robed young man said.
Celestial Maiden Yu!
Han Li's heart eyes lit up slightly upon hearing this.
However, the middle-aged vagrant cultivator completely ignored this arrangement and sat down onto the bed before anyone else had a chance to.
The black-robed young man's expression instantly darkened upon seeing this.
"You can try to appease the girls by offering them the bed, but I have no obligation to do as you say," the man sneered, then laid down onto the bed.
The black-robed young man was furious. He enjoyed a very lofty status in his clan and had never been disrespected like this. He clenched his fists tightly, yet right as he was about to lash out, the man laying on the bed suddenly turned to him with a cold glare of a venomous snake.
The black-robed young man instantly shuddered, and his fury faded away as if a bucket of cold water had just been poured over his head, leaving him rooted to the spot.
"Let's be civilized now. Seeing as Fellow Daoist Lin is feeling weary, he can take a rest on the bed, while the rest of us sit on the floor," Sun Chongshan hurriedly mediated.
The black-robed young man gave a cold harrumph upon hearing this, but it was clear that he was glad that the conflict had been deescalated.
The middle-aged man gave him a cold sneer, then closed his eyes to rest.
A hint of burning resentment flashed through the black-robed young man's eyes, only to be immediately suppressed.
Before long, everyone had sat down in the room, and peace and quiet was restored.
......
A faint smile appeared on Han Li's face as he observed the conflict that had just taken place.
It was a rather interesting group of people staying in that room, and perhaps something noteworthy would happen in there over the course of the journey.
Han Li swept a sleeve through the air to set up several layers of restrictions in the room, and shortly thereafter, the Sun Moon Flying Boat rose up into the air.
Through a small window in the room, Han Li could see that the flying boat was rapidly ascending, rising up high above Gilded City before speeding away as a streak of blue light.
The city down below was left behind in the blink of an eye, and Han Li was very pleased to see the incredible speed on display.
The Sun Moon Flying Boat was no slower than his own speed of flight, and at this rate, it would definitely be able to reach Nine Origins City within thirty years.
He swept a sleeve through the air once again to release several golden Dao Warriors to guard the room, following which he entered his Flower Branch domain.
"Have you already set off for Nine Origins City, Master?" Weeping Soul asked as she approached him, and Xiaobai strode over to join them as well.
Han Li nodded in response and told them about the Sun Moon Flying Boat.
"Where are Qu Lin and Lan Yan?" Han Li suddenly asked.
He was unable to detect their auras.
"Qu Lin was snooping around the Flower Branch domain just now, so I used a secret technique to catch him off guard and put him to sleep. Lan Yan hasn't done anything out of line, but as a safety precaution, I put her to sleep as well," Weeping Soul replied as she pointed at a pavilion in the distance, and Han Li extended his spiritual sense toward the pavilion to discover the two of them laying unconscious inside.
"That's not a bad idea," he said with a nod of approval.
He had entered the Flower Branch domain with the plan of continuing to cultivate using the space of accelerated time, so even if Weeping Soul hadn't done anything, he would've sealed the six senses of Qu Lin and Lan Yan anyway.
With that in mind, he swept a sleeve through the air to conjure up several layers of restrictions around the pavilion that the two of them were staying in as an additional layer of security, then made his way over to the Celestial Time Array.
A corner of the array was already broken, leaving the entire array in a dysfunctional state.
Han Li had no choice but to damage the array in order to free himself from his own spirit domain last time.
Thankfully, he still had some materials left, so repairing the array wasn't going to be a difficult task.
With a sweep of his sleeve, a small pile of materials appeared on the ground, and he began working on repairing the array.
