Chapter 1448: My Mana Is The Purest
Archer’s gaze held hers, steady and unapologetic, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. He noticed Bella’s cheeks flush red, a sight that brought a warm smile to his face, and leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to her cheek.
’’There’s no one else like you, Bella. I’m enjoying getting to know you,’’ he reassured.
When the Honey Bee Queen heard this, she couldn’t help but smile before hugging him. ’’Thank you Arch,’’ she muttered, smiling.
Eager to share more of her ever-growing colony, Bella invited Archer for a tour of her sprawling property. The landscape unfolded, a breathtaking expanse of towering, ancient trees with gnarled branches reaching skyward.
Beneath their canopy, the ground was a patchwork of marshy wetlands, shimmering that reflected the sunlight. Vibrant wildflowers blanketed the terrain, stretching endlessly to the horizon, their delicate petals swaying in the gentle breeze.
As they wandered, the air hummed with the soft chorus of insects and the distant calls of birds, weaving a serene tapestry of nature’s beauty that captivated his senses. While walking down a secret path, Bella began talking.
Bella gestured toward a cluster of towering oaks. ’’You see, we Honey Bees are fierce and resilient, but there’s always a more formidable beast lurking out there. It’s the reason I asked you to create a murky swamp for us.’’
Her eyes flicked to a group of Honey Bee Warriors half-hidden in the shadows of the dense foliage, their postures tense, weapons gleaming faintly in the filtered light. Archer’s gaze followed, catching the figures concealed among the trees.
They were positioned to strike at a moment’s notice, their presence a silent warning. A chill ran through him as he turned back to Bella, his voice low but urgent. ’’Have there been any more attacks recently?’’
’’Yes, many monsters have tried attacking the border hives, but I sent my Guardians out there,’’ she answered, grinning. ’’They tore the intruders apart.’’
Archer let out a chuckle at Bella’s words, but his amusement faded as his eyes caught the glint of dozens of Swamp Crocodiles lurking in the murky shallows, their scaly bodies half-submerged, eyes like cold, unblinking beads watching the world above.
Suddenly, a Wild Hog burst from the tangled underbrush nearby, its hooves squelching in the mud as it lowered its head to drink from the swamp’s edge, as it was thirsty. In an instant, the water exploded.
A massive crocodile surged upward, its jagged jaws snapping shut around the hog with bone-crushing force. The animals’ thrashing was futile as the monster dragged it beneath the surface.
Archer watched as the water churned violently, settling into an eerie stillness, ripples spreading outward across the flower-strewn marsh. Seeing that he was happy with the Honey Bee’s security.
’’How often does that happen?’’ he curiously questioned.
Moments later, a colossal shape stirred in the swamp. The water parted, and an enormous crocodile emerged, its sheer size stealing his breath as it was the biggest one he’d ever seen.
Its head alone was as long as he was tall, its ancient, scarred hide glistening under the sunlight, eyes like dark, polished stones fixed on them.
Archer didn’t know whether to attack or not, but Bella was crouching low to meet the beast at eye level. Her slender hand reached out, gently stroking its massive snout, her touch steady and unafraid.
’’Thanks for that, Bruno,’’ she said, her voice warm and honeyed, a smile tugging at her lips. ’’I hope your little ones grow as mighty as you. You’ve been my guardian since I first set foot here, haven’t you?’’
He watched, awestruck, as the beast let out a low, rumbling grunt, almost affectionate, before sinking back into the murky depths. Bella rose, brushing her hands together, her blonde hair catching the light as she met his wide-eyed stare.
’’Bruno’s the heart of this swamp,’’ she explained softly. ’’He keeps the balance. And he’s never let me down.’’
Archer’s laughter echoed through the swamp as he called out, “Bruno!”
Seconds later, the water churned as the massive crocodile breached the surface once again, its enormous head rising, and it let out a resonant bellow that vibrated the air as it watched him.
Unfazed, Archer stepped forward, his eyes gleaming with confidence, and placed a steady hand on the beast’s scarred, leathery snout. A faint glow pulsed from his palm as he channeled mana into its body.
Tendrils of energy seeped into the creature, mending old wounds and fortifying its ancient frame. Bruno’s massive form shuddered, then thrashed violently, sending waves crashing against the marshy banks.
Bella’s eyes widened, her tone sharp. ’’Master, what are you doing?!’’ she cried, stepping closer, her hands clenched as she watched the crocodile’s tail lash the water.
Archer grinned, undeterred, his hand still pressed firmly against Bruno’s snout. ’’Just giving him a little boost,’’ he excitedly revealed. ’’Healing the scars of time and making him even stronger. Don’t worry, Bel, he’s loving it.’’
As the mana flowed, the monsters’ thrashing slowed, and the beast let out a deep, almost contented rumble, its dark eyes glinting as if acknowledging his power. He was soon finished and stood up.
’’You’ll feel much better once you eat,’’ Archer revealed. ’’You were injured badly, but all that’s healed now, and you’ll feel young again.’’
When Bruno heard this, he slapped his head down in a gesture of happiness before he shot off like a rocket. Bella yelped in shock as her eyes widened. ’’What the heal did you do to him? He’s never been that fast!’’ she exclaimed.
’’Remember Bel,’’ he commented. ’’My mana is the purest on Thrylos, I can heal almost everything except soul damage, but that comes when I become the second Dragon God alongside Tiamat.’’
The Honey Bee Queen’s eyes sparkled as she seized his hand, her grin infectious. ’’Come on, let’s get back to the tour, I can’t wait to show you the hives!’’ she said excitedly.
She tugged him gently, leading him deeper into the swamp along a winding path, the air thick with the scent of wildflowers and the hum of distant bees. As they moved, the water beside them rippled, and Bruno surfaced once more, ever watchful.
The giant crocodile glided silently through the marsh as he trailed them, his powerful tail cutting through the water. Archer glanced at the beast, a smirk tugging at his lips, impressed by the loyalty Bella inspired.
’This beast has become extremely loyal after being healed,’ he mused.
Following that, the path opened into a clearing, and Archer was impressed at the scene in front of him. As the main hive loomed, an awe-inspiring structure woven into the colossal tree that pierces the clouds.
Its gnarled roots sprawled across the swamp, and its trunk, wide enough to house a village, stretched upward, disappearing into the misty canopy. The hive itself pulsed, golden honeycombs glistened in the light, and thousands of Honey Bees flew around.
Bella squeezed his hand, her tone full of pride. ’’This is the heart of our colony. Every bee here works as one, building, protecting, thriving. Isn’t it incredible?’’
Bruno let out a low rumble from the water’s edge, as if in agreement, and he nodded, utterly captivated by the harmony of her world. While admiring all of it, he sent out a pulse of mana that washed across the colony.
Archer decided to send his energy into the landscape to boost it, and when doing this, the Honey Bees went wild as the flowers got brand new pollen, causing them to swarm out to gather even more.
Just then, he dropped a massive Wild Hog on top of Bruno, who snapped it up as two smaller Swamp Crocodiles appeared beside him. They were hit by the next mana wave that shot out of his body.
As the murky water churned, the hidden monsters began to mutate, growing stronger and more menacing. Bella, wide-eyed, scanned her surroundings and cried out, ’’Master, what’s happening now? Why is the colony going mad?’’
’’You should check on your hive,’’ he said, smirking. ’’I just revitalized the land, and the flowers are blooming again.’’
The blonde’s grin widened, and she darted off to inspect her hive. He surveyed the Domain, noting the others were occupied, then turned and headed back to the fortress in the Goldenmane Empire.
Archer materialized next to Elara, who yelped, causing him to laugh. ’’Everything okay, Lara?’’
’’Yes, Arch,’’ she replied, her hand on her chest. ’’You made me jump again, maybe a warning next time?’’
’’Sorry, I just used the tattoos as an anchor point to teleport to,’’ he apologized. ’’Now, how is the frontline?’’
Elara sighed and started talking as she informed him of everything that had happened. ’’The Alliance managed to land an army, and they defeated the 10th Fleet, which was forced to retreat until reinforcements arrived.’’
When Archer heard this, his eyebrow rose. ’’How many ships did we lose?’’
’’Seventeen,’’ she honestly replied. ’’They were ambushed when circling an abandoned island off the southern coast.’’
’’Fuck!’’ he exclaimed. ’’Order an end to the random patrols, we need the fleets to guard Avidia and Draconia.’’
