Chapter 1444: Let Him Speak, Lara
Archer chuckled while hugging the tired Elara, who was breathing heavily. ’’You did good out there, Lara. I was impressed with how many of the Mutants you killed,’’ he complimented her.
This caused a smile to appear on her pretty face as she replied. ’’I’m going to check on the defences. It looks like Valariana and Aeliana have returned.’’
Elara nodded toward the Monarchs appearing in their private quarters. Archer turned to the two women with a charming smile. ’’Hello ladies, was the battle enjoyable?’’ he questioned before approaching them.
The spider queen beamed and accepted him, hugging her. Aeliana sank into his embrace with a warm expression. ’’That was intense, but it was fun, I killed so many of them creepy humans,’’ she answered.
’’They were Mutated Humans, the Terravians kidnapped over many years,’’ he revealed, letting the grey-skinned beauty go. ’’But it looks like I’ll have to keep an eye out for any more armies.’’
Aeliana beamed, moving to the side, allowing the muscle mommy Valariana to pull him into a tight cuddle, excitedly speaking. ’’Your magic is wonderful, husband! I can feel myself getting even stronger.’’
Archer couldn’t help but smile before kissing both women and going to rest. The spider queen followed Elara, keeping her safe as they rested in the private quarters. Following that, days stretched into weeks as they made their way to the Darkthorne Empire.
They hadn’t attacked, but the Tressyms informed him that the Demon armies were building walls across the entrances of their realm. By the time the legions came to a stop, spring was in full bloom.
Thanks to the dry roads, the soldiers were able to march further. Archer was now standing on the wall of the fort, looking at a mountain pass, noticing it was covered in the horrible Terravian magic that protected them.
While minding his own business, Elara appeared, wearing a cute summer dress which instantly caught his attention. The redhead blushed when she noticed he was paying attention to her.
’’Looks like the Demons want to fight,’’ she informed him cheerfully. ’’The 1st Legion wants to go first and crack into the Darkthorne Empire.’’
Archer laughed and nodded in agreement. ’’Go for it, the Broodmaws and Oathkeepers will back you up.’’
When those words left his lips, an idea came to him. ’’How about I summon some giant flying creatures? That will shock the enemy defences.’’
’’That would be excellent,’’ she responded, beaming. ’’I’ll organize the attack now, are you going to check on the Pluoria invasion force?’’
He shook his head, explaining. ’’Teuila, Nefertiti, Sia, and some of the others are planning it out. They just wanted fifty legions to take the continent.’’
Elara’s eyes widened. ’’Fifty? Pluoria is big, so it makes sense as there is loads of ground to hold,’’ she replied.
Archer grinned at her reaction before informing her of what he had learned yesterday. ’’Yes, Lucrezia and Demetra have been sneaking into Pluoria and scouting it out. They said the Alliance has fortified the coastline, so we’ll need to land on the beach, and the first will be perfect for that.’’
Her eyes widened in shock, but she quickly spoke. ’’That’s perfect, we were the ones who took Emberport, and now look at it, the Fire Elves would break down if the Draconians were to leave.’’
’’No doubt,’’ he commented, chuckling. ’’We’ve improved their lives so much that if they were to return to the Duskfire Empire, they would rebel.’’
At that moment, his words carried a weight he could not yet fathom, their truth destined to unfold in the years ahead. They continued chatting, their voices a quiet counterpoint to the disciplined chaos unfolding behind the towering wall.
The 1st Legion moved as they prepared for the imminent clash. The air buzzed with the clatter of steel, the low murmur of soldiers exchanging orders, and the creak of supply carts rolling into position.
Archer, ever vigilant, oversaw the preparations with a commander’s keen eye. He ensured the soldiers were rested, their morale steeled for the trials to come. Meanwhile, the Dragonfire Company readied their cannons.
Massive iron barrels gleamed under the flickering torchlight, each loaded to unleash a relentless barrage upon the Darkthorne fort. As the company calibrated its weapons, more soldiers appeared on the wall.
After a few days, Nala and Malakia returned, happy expressions crossing their faces as the older lioness commented. ’’Arch! Your little island is a dream come true, the Alliance would be jealous if they saw how prosperous everyone is.’’
’’Well, they can live in regret,’’ he answered, chuckling at their reactions. ’’I give every nation a chance, even the Fire Elves, but the empress rejected my offer of peace.’’
Malakia waved his words away. ’’Embera is a stubborn old woman; she’s sat on that throne for over a thousand years.’’
Archer watched as the older woman sauntered toward the bed and sat down before continuing. ’’I feel sorry for her in a way, ruling a failing empire barely able to hold off the northern Demons.’’
When hearing her words, he questioned. ’’How well does the Darkthorne Empire fight? Rumors say their savages and dabble in head hunting.’’
’’They do,’’ the older lioness answered honestly. ’’We fortified our borders with walls to stop their raiding, now they’ve turned to raiding from the sea.’’
’’Interesting,’’ he muttered just as a soldier rushed in, panicking.
Elara jumped up and demanded. ’’What brings you in here, Marius! This place is private!’’
The man went pale, but Archer intervened. ’’Let him speak, Lara.’’
Following that, Marius bowed before revealing. ’’We have a raiding party heading toward the shore. Should we fire on them when they get in range?’’
When everyone heard his words, they rushed toward the eastern portion of the fortress that reached the beach just north of the Goldenmane capital. He spotted hundreds of ships heading in their direction.
’’Dammit,’’ he muttered. ’’We have three Battleships and ten Destroyers that Olivia left behind before heading back to Draconia.’’
Just then, Archer remembered the giant whales named Deepsea Whales, which he captured last week, and how they gave him a run thanks to being on the Pseudo God level for monsters.
When deciding what to do, he turned to the women. ’’Prepare some Legionnaires and Drakeguards to take out any survivors that wash up,’’ he informed, smirking. ’’I want to test some monsters on the raiders to see if they are strong enough to help in the war.’’
Once everyone agreed, he vanished, teleporting high above the sea. Once there, he summoned his wings and hovered in place, the wind whipping through his hair as he surveyed the vast expanse below.
’’Now it’s time to test out my sea creatures,’’ he muttered
Moments later, he tore open a portal just above the surface. Moments later, three whale-like beasts erupted through the rift and plunged into the ocean, causing a thunderous crash, sending waves rippling outward.
A fierce grin spread across Archer’s face as he watched the creatures churn the waters below. Raising his voice to carry over the howling wind, he issued his command. ’’Attack the incoming fleet! Crush their vanguard, but let a few ships slip through. I want the Demon soldiers to face a true test of their mettle!’’
The largest of the trio, a monstrous Deepsea Whale, he noticed its eyes were like burning coals and a maw lined with jagged teeth, let out a bone-rattling roar that echoed across the sea.
It was a battle cry and a promise of destruction. The other two whales followed their leader, their massive forms cutting through the waves as they surged toward the distant enemy fleet.
The ships, their sails taut and lanterns flickering like fireflies, were blissfully unaware of the aquatic titans closing in. His eyes gleamed, knowing the chaos about to unfold would not only disrupt the enemy’s advance.
Archer watched as the lead whale surged forward, and it snapped one of the vessels in half with one bite. Splinters and screams filled the air as the creature’s tail lashed out, capsizing a second ship in a spray of shattered timber.
Everything descended into chaos, their formations breaking as the whales tore through their ranks. From his vantage point, Archer loved the carnage that unfolded as the ships were no match for the aquatic titans he had unleashed.
Yet, as per his command, the whales parted, allowing a handful of battered vessels to limp through, their crews unaware of the soldiers waiting on the shore. The sea glowed with the flickering light of sinking ships.
The air carried the mingled scents of salt, blood, and burning wood. When Archer saw this, he grinned before returning to the wall where Elara and his forces were waiting for the surviving ships to land.
’’Prepare for the first wave of Demons, Lara,’’ he commented, exciting the redhead who ordered the Dragonfire Company to be ready.
Just then, a Pseudo God appeared, catching his attention as his tail stiffened thanks to the stranger being on the same power level as him. Without waiting, he summoned Brooke and Lucrezia, who appeared.
