To the Erlin Confederation (1)

“Let’s go on a trip!” (Yuki)

I declared to have a travel festival!

“…Such a wonderful festival. I wish we could hold it every day… No, not every day. School is fun too.” (Enne)

“Eh, Shii… Hmmm… Yes, the school festival is fun, too!” (Shii)

After Shii’s words, the Wraith Girls also danced as if to say, “Festival! It’s a festival!”

They’re so cute.

“Yes, I also love the travel festival! I’m looking forward to it. Maybe let’s go next week… Right, perhaps we can take a long break!” (Illuna)

“Okay, we’ll stick to that schedule then. Illuna and the others will be joining as well. So, I’ll have to inform the teachers at the school.” (Yuki)

Because of slow means of transportation, traveling took more time in this world compared to my previous life.

Fortunately, the route from the Rogard Empire to the Erlin Confederation only needed less than half a day to travel now, so our trip should only take a day or two. Before the airships were built, it would have taken twice as long.

…Well, it was an overseas trip, so to speak, and the airship was an excellent way to get to our destination.

“Okay! Ah, but the teacher and Emyuu aren’t at school right now, you know?” (Illuna)

“Oh, really?” (Yuki)

“Yeah! I heard she went with Emyu to some ruins for analysis.” (Illuna)

“Oh… So, she went to work on something?” (Yuki)

Layla responded to my words, “Probably, yes. When I was in the village, there were several times when we received requests for Master’s help.”

“I see… Layla, can I leave you in charge of whom to contact at the village? I’ll go to the Rogard Empire and check on the status of the airship.” (Yuki)

Layla replied, “Yes, I’ll take care of it.”

“I’ll prepare what Riou and Sakuya may need on the trip. If Yuki is there, we can manage with DP, but we can’t rely on it all the time.” (Lefi)

“Yes, I guess so.” (Yuki)

“Alright! I think you should also get them some clothes to go out in!” (Nell)

“Yes! I will prepare their favorite toy to play with as soon as they cry!” (Illuna)

“… A stroller. That is a must. I’ve never seen one outside, but I know it would definitely be useful.” (Yuki)

“Um, um… Yes! Shii will learn to sing a song so that Riou and Sakuya can feel safe even when we go out together!” (Shii)

After Shii’s words, Rei first implied with her movements, “Well, I’m going to learn to dance!” followed by Rui as if to say, “Dance? Then I’ll learn that one too!” as well as Ro adding in motion, “I’ll have to learn how to soothe them with illusion magic.”

“Alright, well, then, let’s divide up the workload and get ready for the trip!” (Yuki)

◇◇◇

And so, each of us started to prepare for the trip.

Unlike before, everyone also had to pack things Riou and Sakuya needed in addition to their own luggage, but even doing so seemed to be really fun. Everyone was packing together. Since I didn’t have much to bring, I was done pretty fast, but from the looks of it, it would be a good choice for me to stay out of their business.

It looked like they were really packing a lot of stuff, but it didn’t matter how much luggage they had.

After all, we could travel completely empty-handed by putting the bags we packed in my item box or in the pouch that each of them carried, which could be used to invoke space magic. It was that easy.

Meanwhile, I visited the Rogard Empire to make reservations for a flight to the Erlin Confederation and to contact the Erlin Confederation Embassy.

Although I was no longer the emperor of the Rogard Empire, it would still be a bad idea for us to go to the Erlin Confederation Embassy directly without contacting the Rogard Empire first.

Well, for my part, I didn’t really want to bother them, but even if I knew that it would be a hassle for both sides, just showing my face was still the least polite thing I could do.

So, I thought of greeting the current Emperor while asking him how things were going over there, but he seemed to be so busy nowadays that he might probably collapse if I suddenly showed up. And though his attendants told me that if I called for him, he would likely see me, I decided to just leave a brief message and decline the invitation to see him.

It looked like he was doing his best as an emperor. I hope he continues to do his work without collapsing.

…A demon lord who cared about courtesy. That was not something you would normally see.

Oh well, I was now no longer just a demon lord but also a protector, husband, and father. Let’s just say that three-quarters of me was concerned about courtesy.

The demon lord part of me was still unruly, and may like to bring the world in a state of awe and fear one day. Fuhahaha!!!

“What are you doing Yuki, you look like an idiot.” (Lefi)

“It’s nothing.” (Yuki)
